How saturated market affects movies

Was just looking at the recent trend.
I think part of the reason Fan underperformed, was coz the market it appeals to was the Multiplex audiences, which were completely saturated with films in the past few days.

They churned out 70 crores for Neerja, another 70 crores for Kapoor and Sons, 55 crores for Ki and Ka, and Fan underperforming.
How much more could they pitch in? Each subsequent film performed a little less than expected.

Baghi appeals mainly to single screens, which haven't seen a decent release since Airlift.

How much does it all matter?

I'm not even a Shahrukh Khan fan, but even I know that his films don't fizzle out THIS fast. Especially since it wasn't crappy like Ra.One or Dilwaale. It was a decent film

Bahubali was South movie, most of the audiences reflected that.
When Bajrangi released, there was no saturated market for multiplexes OR single screens.

The film wasn't interesting enough. The film belittled "fans." SRK would not be SRK if it weren't for people liking him. The fact that his film did so bad doesn't matter... the fact that people do not believe his films are good is why it failed. He did Dilwale to make money. Dilwale also did a good business but it didn't have the SRK's magic. I'm a huge fan of him, but somewhere he just lost himself.

My point is that Shahrukh's BEEN doing crap films, and so has Salman. Audiences still lap them up. Shahrukh has gotten huge openings even after Ra.One, JTHJ, etc.

Khans, tbh, are above good or bad films. So this is DEFINITELY not coz of how the movie was, coz IMO, it was at least a decent film

I don't know about saturated market...but how many movies will you go and watch in theatre, in a month? There must be mental saturation...I need a gap of 2-3 weeks between my movies. I can;t go every week to theatre to watch a movie. And movies come on TV in 2 months now a days !!

Pattern is different in India than how it is abroad
