May be because he has been in protective mode for Ram and Sita , so I am guessing he must have developed super humane observation skills

and as long as lakshman is with them , he wont let Rama take out his weapons

@ Shivam & Shruthi, Even now all I could conclude on the Swarnamrig in Mithila forest as an effect of light & shadow between the dense tree trunks. Its nothing but a mirage. The shiny hair of the deer would have reflected as Gold to the infant eyes of Mithila princesses. That too they watched them from distance and that would be Sita's alibi to send Ram to fetch the Swarnamrig for her as she completely believe that it exists. Like a dotting husband who believe his wife's attachment and understanding of nature will fall prey to her insistence. Ram's trust in Sita's knowledge has gone manyfolds after he witnessed the flood in Mithila and later in the forest. He thinks she knows the forest better than the 2 brothers and he said that to Lakshman also when Sita wanted to fetch food in the night for them and the child who was dropped by vulture.

Shruthi in Kannada we call that as "mareechike" with due respect or honor to Mareecha who created the illusion

Sounds like a very possible and plausible explanation😉

I love all the discussions my post has stirred :) Thank you so much for your comments. They truly make me more informed, more introspective and stimulate my intellect.

I agree with someone's point about being extra sensitive when you are called out as weak early on and wanting to go to extremes to prove yourself. But mind you that was years ago. In the years since, Lakshman has nothing but respect for Sita and her capabilities of surviving in the forest. Even in Agastya muni's ashram, when Agastya muni asked Ram to consider Sita staying back as they continued their dangerous journey, Sita's first comment was, "I do not know if Lakshman will think I am a boojh, but I want to go with you." While Lakshman is a wiser man today, learning from his mistakes, in harmony with Prakriti and Sanskriti, Sita is still that rebellious teenager carrying the boojh (burden) of Lakshman's words. Like I said in my original post, she is unconsciously giving off discomforting signals to make me believe that this is part of a larger setup, when she will have to repent for being oblivious to Sanskriti or culture.

While it is easy to say that Ram and Sita knew that this was meant to happen and hence they did exactly what they were supposed to ensure it happened, it is more interesting to see this scenario with the viewpoint that even Gods have the human failings when they are born as humans and the consequences they have to deal with as a result of those failings. It makes legends like Ramayan more palatable and more relat-able to our day-to-day lives.
