How much more twisted can Bollywood get?

I am a silent reader of the BW forum and don't post much here. But since the past few months some really shocking events makes one question whether so-called success and making it into Bollywood is worth it?
First there was the Parth case, that I very inconsistently followed and am not very well versed in it, but again it was all about accusations and counter accusations and I guess till now no one can ascertain the truth.

Then there was the alleged suicide of Pratyusha and guess the verdict is still out in this case too. But again whatever the truth a young life lost in the elusive world of glamour.

And now the Kangana saga and lots of dirty linens being washed in public and lots of skeletons coming out of the closet.

And the irony is such a messed up industry is the yardstick for success, role models and aspirations.

That also reminds me of Rimi Sen, at the other extreme other side of the spectrum. From what I gauged, watching her in BB seems she refused to play by the BW rule book, and though talented did not pursue her BW dreams after failures, but decided to cut off her loss. She was deemed a failure/ looser by many, but is she really?

Also I am sure there r many Rimis out there, but we don't get to know about them as dey make a quiet exit and then those who pursue or try pursuing success by hook or by crook are hailed as superstars!

I dont think its a case of only BW being twisted. Happens everywhere around us but probably things dont get highlighted as people are not celebrities. Open the newspaper and you will find these things happening everywhere.
Earlier I used to feel bad when someone talented didnt make it while some talentless hack stayed on the top of BW. But then now I feel success in any field including BW is not a factor of talent alone. Its also a factor or how you handle your failures and pressures.
Like yesterday we read Adhyayan Suman's interview where he spoke about he became a failure despite getting a decent enough launch. He blamed Kangana or rather his inability to handle a toxic relationship which caused a breakdown and caused him to go into a shell. Now if we compare him with say Kangana who also faced an abusive relationship in the hands of someone like Aditya Pancholi you realize how tough she was that she handled Aditya and got better of him. You may agree or disagree with her methods but she did win in the end.
Similarly atm Kangana is under intense pressure with fire directed at her from every side. I am sure it must be horrible for her even if she was lying and we feel she deserves it. How she handles it will decide the future course of her career as any now she can make use of adversities and come to the top or crumble under pressure and give up.
Most of the people who are at the top whether its the three Khans or Kangana, PC, DP have some time or other faced lots of controversies apart from downs from their careers. ts how they handled their lows which made them what they are rather than how the handled their career highs.

Ah but that's d very things I am questioning. I am not judging anyone here as I am no one to judge anyway. What I am questioning r these concepts of success/ winner / losers / ? I am just wondering if we r using the right ppl and criteria for measuring these concepts?
Also Shreya agree it's not only limited to Bollywood, but rampant in all fields, but again it's BW/ Films/ TV dat most ppl r exposed to and u have role models from this lot for the youth and dat is what bothers me.😳

There has to be some criteria to judge success. For BW its BO hits, how many Alist films one has on hand, how many endorsements or events one is doing. If someone has a good amount of all of that one is considered a success. I also think despite talent many do not have the mental makeup to climb to the top or stay on the top in BW. In such cases its best to cut one's losses and run. There is no shame in it. Not always its the case that the field you first choose for yourself works out. Perhaps people like this instead of struggling at the fringes of BW can be useful to themselves, their family and society elsewhere. Like we know Ronit Roy started off his career in films but couldnt sustain and today he is a superstar in TV.
We are perhaps not looking at the right role models if we only focus on the glamor aspect or the controversies. But if we look at the hard work and tactical and strategic moves these people made then we are perhaps looking at the right role model. I dont think there is anyone in this world who is very ethical and yet reigning at the top.
