ead the name plate on the wall, beside the huge oak door. She was a newbie in her office and had recently moved from Mumbai to Pune. Some one knocked on the door..and came in….He was immediately smitten by the beauty and the emanating charm of the person sitting behind those over sized rosewood desks. It took him a full minute to come back to reality..when the person sitting before him, stood up, walked upto him and waved her hands in front of his face.
Man: Oh I am sorry..Mein wohh..
Girl: Hello Mr.Avinash Goel, Arundhati Aggarwaal. Please have a seat
Avi: Apko mera Naam kaise maloom?
Aru: Apne Guest name tag jo laga rakhi hai!
Avi: Oh, yeah,…(and they both laugh)
Aru: To bataye, mein apki kya khtimat kar sakti huin? How can this firm help you?
Avinash thinks to himself…(Aaj to mera lucky number hai! Lag gaya akir mein..waah kya cheez hai! Haat lag jaye to baat bann jaye!)
Aru taps on the table..and the guy comes back from his day dreaming..
Aru: Ap to bade day dreamer ho..
Avi: nahi, wohh mein kuch soch raha tha?
Aru: Well, lets get to the point, shall we?
Avi: yes, of course..
And they discuss some company issues..At the end of the meeting..
Aru: Well, aap yeh file, yahin chod ja-e-ye, mein padhke wapas bhijwa dungi!
She stands up and extends her hand for a shake hand..Avinash stands up and shakes the hand. But Arundhati could feel him feeling her hand…
Aru: Maloom hai, mere haat kafi mulayam hai, galoin par, kafi zor ke padte hain lekin..just for your information
Avi: mein wohh…sorry.I am really sorry..please aap kisi ko, expeically mere boss ko maat bataeaga.
Arundhati without saying anything goes towards the door and opens it for him..the people in the office look at whats happening…Avinash ashamed facedly walks out…with his things, as he is crossing Aru near the door…
Aru: Ayinda sa..mere office mein ane ki zurrat maat kar na..ye dekh rahe ho na (she points towards her office people) tumhein zinda nahi chodenge. Samjh gaye? Good. As soon he steps out, she closes the door. And grumbles and goes back to her seat!
Avinash comes down to the parking lot and thinks to himself..Arundhati Aggarwaal, iska badla mein lunga! Zaroor lunga! Yeh mera wada hai! Tumhein maloom nahi tum kisse panga le rahi ho..He drives off…
In BMS college, Akanksha panicks seeing the picture message..while Sumedha collects her self and washes her face…
Ak: yeh yeh..to Poorab hai! Sumi..yeh kya hua..
Sumi puts her hand tightly over akanksha's mouth and tries to shut her up..
Sumi: Chup akas, ekdum *sniffs* chup…
Akanksha calms down a bit..Sumi takes the phone back..and looks at the pic again and gets angry..very angry.. Ak: (wishperingly) par poorab ko koi aise kyon marega..
Sumi hardens up..
Sumi: Mein janti huin, kisne kiya hai yeh..abhi sochne ka waqt nahi hai..jaldi hospital jana hoga..tum mere ghar phone kar ke bol de..ki mere ane mein thoda der hoga..sun, mein hospital ja rahi huin..tum ek kaam kar, mere bag le ja aur, sun..gaadi se nahi, taxi's se ghar chali ja, mein tujhe baad mein phone karungi.
Ak: par sumi, mein tujhe akela nahi chod rahi huin..mein bhi chalungi tere saath
Sumi: Nahi, mein jaisa kah rahi huin, waisa hi karna..ab jaldi se, kisi ko kuch bataye bina, ghar chali ja..agar saath baje tak mera call na aye to, ghar phone karna, aur unko bata dena ki kya hua hai..
Ak: Mujhe bahut darr lag raha hai Sumi, yeh tu kis jhamele mein padi hai is baar? Jo tere pariwar ke peeche pade hai?
Sumi: (looking lost) Pata nahi..par jo bhi hai, aaj yah to aar, ya paar…
Ak: tu mujhe aur bhi dara rahi hai..
Sumi: Darr maat, ab tu ja…
Akanksha reluctantly leaves with Sumis bag n leaves for home..Sumi looks at the the picture again..and decides she has to do something about it..she calls someone over the phone..and asks them to meet her outside the hospital parking lot…
In the hospital, The doctors take the injured man into OT and the docs discuss that the case looks very bad, and he might not survive..he has lost lot of blood..They are interrupted by a nurse..
Nurse: Doctor, Jis company ke samne yeh hadsa hua, uska malik Rajbeer Acharya milne aye hai…
The doctor turns back in such a way that he covers the face part of the patients body and the rest is covered under the covers.He shakes hand with Raj and tells him that the condition of the man is very weak, and he might not survive, and since no one from his kin has come forward, they are not able to go ahead with the operation, as the formalities are not complete.
Raj: Formalities mein poori kar deta huin…agar koi mere jagah se hota to wohh bhi yahi karta..agar mera beta hota yahain to mein bhi yahi chahta ki koi aur uski madat kare..ap dikhaiye mujhe kahain sign karna hai..
Doc: Lekin, aap inke family se nahi hai, aur hamein sirf unke parivar waloin se permission lena hai..
Sumedha just happens to get out of the elevator and notices the doctor talking to someone..and then realized it's her dad..she thinks, her dad shouldn't find out now that it is poorab, else he will have a heart attack again and thinks, how to deviate her dad's attention from there..
She calls her dad on his cell phone..Rajbeer excuses himself from the doctors, w hile important minutes are ticking by for the patient..
Raj: Hello Sumi beta.
Sumi: Dad..aap kahain ho?
Raj: Wohh..hospital mein beta, us accident case ke silsile mein yahain aya tha..us admi ka koi gharwale abhi tak nahi aye hai…
Sumi: Dad, apka doctor ka appointment hai, chaar baje ka, aap jaiye, mein pata laga ti huin, uske bare mein…
Raj: par Sumi..
Sumi: Dad..no par war..aap jayeye..mein sambhal lungi..and (she controls herself hard) wohh admi mere college ke classmate ka bhai hai..wohh arahi hai mere saath..
Raj: Oh..mere taraf se usse mera poora saath dena…theek hai beta..
Sumi: Ok dad aap jaye…bye.
She looks from the corner of the corridor, and waits for her dad to leave..and after a minute he boards the elevator and leaves..being convinced that he left..she goes towards the doctors and the room they took the patient too..The doctors are discussing that even a minute more can be disastrous for him..and Sumi interrupts from behind..
Sumi: Mein uski bahan huin…bataeye kya formalities poori karni hai..
Doc: Apka naa,…
Sumi: Sumedha ..lekin aap treatment abhi suru ki jiye..
Doc: Theek hai…Nurse, ap inhe le jayeye..hum operation dus minute mein shuru karenge..
Till then Sumi had not seen Poorab from closeup..as the doctor moves away..she sees the almost battered face and body of her brother..and breaksdown completely..The nurses pull her away and takes her to a wiating room..console her and calm her down..In the OT the operation begins..The doc says, they need 5 bottles of B- blood…
Head Nurse: doctor, wohh to bahut hi rare blood group hai, aur wohh bhi panch bottle?
Doc: Hain, lekin, abhi ke liye, hamein atleast do teen bottles chahiye hi…blood bank ko phone karke pocho..
Head nurse calls the blood bank and after a brief conversation hangs up..
HN: Doctor, unke paas sirf ek hi bottle hai…aur do ka bandobast karna bahut hi muskil hai..chaar to bahut door ki baat hai!
Doc: ap inke bahan se poochiye ki unke ghar mein koi B- hai ya nahi..
The head nurse goes out and calls for sumi..Sumi turns back and is worried at the worried look from the nurse…The head nurse expalains the situation to her and she almost faints… Sumi: B-ve?? Yeh kaise ho skata hai?
She thinks, hamare ghar mein koi bhi B-ve nahi hai..to fir Poorabh kaise?Papa to B-ve nahi hai…kya Badi Ma??? Par mein unko kahain doondhuin..
Then suddenly having over heard their conversation, a mid-40's man, from behind tells…
Man: Mein dunga..Mein B-ve huin..
Sumi turns back n so does the nurse..Sumi does towards him..
Sumi: app doge? Mein apka kis muhain se shukriya ada karuin?
Nurse: Kya aap sure ho? Hamein kafi sara khoon chahiye…
Man: (looks lost n sad..) Mere Bete key liye kuch bhi kar sakta huin…
Sumedha is shocked and stunned to hear this…
