Recently, Deepika Padukone passed a comment on Sonam Kapoor in public. Sonam retorts, "Deepika may not like me, but I like her."

Evidently debutantes Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor are already learning the ropes of the game. They have begun taking potshots at each other. Obviously there's no love lost between them. Recently, Deepika took a dig at Sonam at an event.

Deepika, at a press conference for a head massager product, passed the uncalled-for comment. When asked about the comparisons being made between Sonam and her, the Om Shanti Om actress said, "There should be no comparisons as I am not from Bollywood and have achieved everything on my own. Also, our movie genres are different."

Deepika's comment pointed towards the fact that she has made it bigger than Sonam despite not coming from a filmi background. In a subtle way, she even hinted that Sonam is in Bollywood because she Anil Kapoor's daughter.

The bone of contention between the two actresses seems to be the upcoming hero Ranbir Kapoor. Ranbir has been linked to both the girls. Also, their debut films (Om Shanti Om, Saawariya) hit the theatres on the same day.

When contacted, Sonam refused to give full vent to her feelings. She began by saying, "It's okay. Mera kuch nahin bigadta (What have I got to lose?). This doesn't rattle me. Everybody has their own destiny."

Does she not feel that Deepika too has SRK and Farah's support? "Everybody comes with his/her bag and baggage," Sonam said.

Why don't they talk to each other? Sonam said diplomatically, "I don't know her. Deepika and I haven't had much chance to interact."

Deeper into the conversation, she said, "Deepika may not like me, but I like her."

Deepika Padukone remained unavailable for comment.

This is similar take on that video but in a different paper. Like most journos mumbaimirror too posted just Deepika's part and no mention of what Sonam said. Media is having field day pitting Deepika and Sonam against each other. 😛

both ladies are very sweet and straight forward...i think this thing is being blown out of proportation just like how the whole srk-mk thing was....wat both said was trueeeee....and they were ASKED to comment..if they havent met eachother, dont noe about eachother...they wud obviously onli say about wat they do noe..

if they give a "no comment" den media and ppl wud take it the rong way as well...that they have so much ego, they dont even wanna comment on eachother now..lolll

so they had to say sumthing...and so they said watever little they knew about eachother...and they didnt say anything rong...both things are true...

media is just showing the negative sides of it and making us believe they are taking digs at eachother.. 😡

poor ranbir... things are already getting messed up lol... hasn't he said so many times that he's not going out with either girl? And even if he is lying, or trying to hide it, that still doesn't prove that they're fighting for ranbir... haha! Anyway why would THEY fight over him? lol... but i like the way sonam's handling this stuff... born diplomat i guess! 👏

There films have already come and gone. That means it was copied from the old video of HT which is doing rounds.
