Reasons behind Fan flopping

1.People didn't understand the movie.They got confused that this movie is showing fans in good light or bad light.In this forum itself I have seen some people telling that the message was good and some people saying the movie insulted fans.

2.Jabra song is quite a popular song.They should have added this song in the beginning,specially after gaurav decided to go to Mumbai and meet aryan.Or they could have shown gaurav dancing to this song and imitating Aryan in the Ram leela program on dussehra.The scene where gaurav was imitating Aryan was long and boring.Jabra song would have been better.

3.YRF wasted money by shooting in London and Croatia.They could have shot the whole movie in India.Lot of people felt the second half was unrealistic because of this.The second half would have been more interesting than the first half if they had shot in various parts of India.And the chase scene was not required at all.That scene made the movie more unrealistic.

4.The ending also spoiled the movie.There was no need for Gaurav to commit suicide.Gaurav never wanted to live his life like Aryan.All he wanted was a little appreciation from Aryan.They could have shown both Aryan and Gaurav apologizing to each other,Gaurav going to jail for few years,getting released and starting his life afresh as Gaurav Chandna and not as Jr.Aryan Khanna.People would have loved the happy ending.

5.The message,"one must create his own identity and not copy/imitate others" is not practical in the entertainment industry.What do the stand up comedians do?They earn their livelihood mostly by imitating actors and actresses.There have been ample shows on tv since the 90s where stand up comedians get appreciation by imitating others.And imitating actors is not a piece of cake.It also requires a lot of hard work.

2) Strictly for Sharukh fans.

Usually in other movies, stars play certain characters (Rahul, Bhajrangi), with whom people associate themselves. The initial scenes of Sharukh receiving awards looked more like a documentary on Sharukh. People could not feel for Aryan Khanna. (Instead if they had shown him as an ageing star, who is not able to accept his form is coming down .. or some such thing, people could have connected more to him as a human being. Not as a star). Even Gaurav did not resemble an ordinary guy, instead a psycho.

3) Bad screen play.

No good enough reason for Gaurav to turn against Aryan. Story was not told in a way that we could empathise with Gaurav.

SRK acted well. Film did as much it could do.
