Yes, Mani and Shagun are to be defended because majority of the YHM fans are criticizing without any fault of these two.
Mani wanted to propose Ishita.What's wrong in that? She's been living with him for seven years. In this seven long years, she's never mentioned Raman a single time so that Mani could get a clue of her feelings, she was all about Ruhi only. Now that he is on the verge of declaring his love for her, she's suddenly invented love for her estranged husband!! When he told her that her husband, family members mistakenly assumed her dead, she had no reaction as if they meant nothing to her. Why wouldn't a man advise such a woman to move on?! Over the years, Ishita with all her expressions, antics, actions, gesture and behavior encouraged Mani to think her as his life partner but suddenly she starts to behave exactly the life. Is life and relationships a joke to her that she deliberately made her previous ones?
Mrs Bhalla suddenly has time for thinking about Shagun's dignity and that too because Mrs Iyer instigated her! Shagun has been doing all the duties of a wife to Raman as well as all the duties of a mother to Pihu and Adi even though they didn't ask for it. Isn't it enough of a testimony of her changed nature if not her previous deeds are not taken into considerations? Sure, it is. Why it took so long for Raman to accept this? Still it's not sure, what he is going to do and that's ridiculous. Didn't he marry Ishita thinking that he couldn't marry anyone else? So, it can happen again. If after seven dedicated years Shagun expects love and respect from Raman, what's wrong in that? Shagun didn't express her feelings or desire yet but if she feels that way it's very natural too.
