This is actualy a short update. I couldn't write fully... But I wanted to post something for this story as I have been getting resquest from my readers to update LSAM2!!

Part 49 - Sleeping Beauty!!

(Rk's POV)
"Rishu!!" Madhu shouts & throw the shawl at my face.
"Baby, it's cold out here." I wrap the shawl over her shoulders again. We are now in beach as Madhu wanted to go for a walk.
"Rishu... please. I already look so fat & if you wrap me with this thick shawl then I will look even bigger like a hippopotamus" she says & pouts cutely which makes me smile at her.
"Okay" I agree & place the shawl back in our car & I start walking with Madhu holding her hand.
"Tell me when you feel tired or your leg starts aching, then we will go back home, okay?"
"Stop worrying too much, Rishu."
"I can't help. You hardly have a month for your delivery so I am getting edgy lately."
"Rishu, get me that American corn!" Madhu asks pointing to a corn vendor. I wanted to protest but I know my wife better to deny her wish.
"Have you thought about any name?" I ask Madhu while she eats the hot sweet corn.
"Nope. I am so confused what to name our daughter. Rishu, why don't you name her?"
"I named you so I wanna give you a chance too."
"Hmm... right... wait a minute... why you named me 'Madhubala'?" I look down & grin at her & suddenly starts singing...

Madhu claps her hands as she giggles. "So my dear hubby... what was all that? Singing in public?" Madhu asks sweetly. I look around to see few of the passerby looking at me & smiling. I scratch my temple to hide my embarassment.
"Rishu, give me you hand" she says & takes my hand to places it on top of her stomach.
"See, how she is dancing to your song?" Madhu says smiling as we feel our baby doing Summersault in her. Wow! This feels amazing.
"She is kicking pretty hard lately right?" I ask as I could feel her strong thumping. I worry that it hurts Madhu.
"Yeah. She is growing big nah." Madhu says with a smile.
"Does it hurt at all?" I ask as I caress her belly gently, trying to comfort our baby girl who got so excited with my singing.
"Sometimes." She shrugs. So it hurts! I feel sad that Madhu is taking all the sufferings but all I could do is just watch her suffer. Wish I could take all her pain. My poor baby! She gets leg cramp, back ache, chest burn, breathing issues, she couldn't sleep well at night as she find the need to pee for every half an hour as the baby sits right on top of her bladder pressing her to pee & what not? Oh! Did I miss her morning sickness? Without drinking she gets hangover every morning. Jeez! What all women go through to give birth to a child? "Well?" Madhu asks. I frown. I am suddenly zoned out so I don't know what she is azking?
"That song?" Oh that! I pull her in my arms & whisper in her ear.
"I heard that song just before your naming ceremony ... I loved that actor of that song & forced Padmini aunty & Malik uncle to name you 'Madhubala'... that's one of the reason why I love you... because I love actor Madhubala so much..." I reply sheepishly. Madhu pinches my arm hardly making me yelp in pain.
"You love me because you love her?" Madhu asks in a threatening tone. I slowly nod my head in agreement. I am testing the water.
"I hate you!" Madhu says faking anger, as she shows her claws at me ready to kill me. "And I love you." I quickly peck a kiss on her cheek making her blush. "Okay I will forgive you but get me cotton candy" She orders.
"Madhu... you & your unhealthy food habits." I shake my head in irritation. I have tried & failed in changing her eating habits.
"Please" She asks cutely. I sigh & stop the boy who is selling cotton candy to buy it for her.
"Two" Madhu says to that boy.
"Yeah, I don't like it. You eat." I tell her. I am not a baby to eat cotton candy. "Not for you. For us!" she points to her big bump. I nod & get two cotton canty stick for them.
"You hold the other one. I will eat this & get that." Madhu instructs me & then we start walking again.
"Rishu, wait. I will remove my shoes." "Why? Do you have leg cramp?"
"No. I just wanna walk on the sand bare foot, okay?" Madhu explains. I have a vague doubt that she is lying but I didn't probe her but just nod my head & then without knowing I take some cotton candy & eat.
"Rishuuu!!" Madhu shouts.
"What? Your water broke?" I ask panicking. Oh shit! We didnt even have her maternity bag ready?
"Gah! No. You ate my cotton candy??" She accuses me. f**k! She is unbelievable. She almost tore my eardrum with her loud cry but that's for cotton candy?
"That's it? For a minute you gave me a stoke!" I breathe out loudly.
"Here. Have!"
"No! I don't want" then don't have woman!
"Okay!" I shrug & when I was about to throw it away, she grabs it from my hand.
"I don't like wasting eatables" Madhu reasons. I want to laugh at her for her funny antics but I control myself. Who knows she might burst into tears for laughing at her.
"Shall we name our daughter 'Roshini'?" Madhu asks.
"The light which entered into our life?"
"Nice name but I dont want to name our daughter Roshini"
"Why?" She asks frowning.
"Sultan will claim that we named our daughter after his son Roshan & will start weaving dreams that Roshan & Roshini are two love lizards as how he puts." I say & laugh. He calls Madhu & me as love lizards as we are so sticky like how a lizard sticks to wall.
"Omg! I never thought in that way! No. No. We will think of some other name." Madhu says.
"Rishu, we will sit!"
"Okay." I help her sit on the sand & before I could sit beside her, she ask me to get her a butter pop corn. Girl! We are not in cinemas.
"Over there." She points to masala corn stall.
"And get me one lime soda." She says quickly accessing the soda hub next to the pop corn stall.
"Soda is not good for health, baby"
"Just a sip, Rishu, please. Then I will give the rest to you & you drink, okay?" She says. I sigh & without saying anything I walk to buy her order.
"Tomorrow onwards you should come home early, okay?" Madhu says.
"Okay" I agree before I question her why?
"See, from tomorrow onwards I will be officially on my maternity leave so I dont want to stay along at home for long. I need you to be at home by sharp six" she orders.
"Yes, Ma'am" I say with a chuckle.
"Rishu, when we go he back to home will you cook me chicken wings? I am carving to eat it."
"Okay, baby. I will. So shall we go home now?" I ask taking this chance to take her back home & put her to bed to take some rest.
"No! We will stay a little longer." She says & leans her head on my shoulder & I take the lime soda paper cup from her.
"One sip over!" I tell her & quickly drink the rest so that she won't ask.
"Hmm... What to name our daughter?" She asks more to herself as she taps her stomach gently.
"Rishu, shall we just call her with some pet names like Boo, Doll, Angel... & when she grows up she can name herself. The name which she likes! What say?"
"No, Madhu. I feel naming a child is solely the right of the child's parents so we should give her a beautiful name."
"Hmm... Okay." She agrees & starts eating her pop corn again. "Rishu, Butterscotch!"
"Gah! Thats not even a name."
"No! Ice cream. Get me one butterscotch cone. There you see kwality walls." Oh God! How much she will eat?? Will she check all the stalls in the shore?
"Madhu, you already had too much. I don't want you to throw up everything you had till now."
"I won't."
"Madhu..."
"You don't want me to eat because I am already too fat nah?" She asks & sniffs. f**k me for making her cry. I know how to cheer up her mood. I just go & get her an ice cream.
"Love you, Rishu." She side hugs me & with childish glee she makes a smart work with the wrapper.
"Rishu? Shall be name her 'Ruby'?" She asks as she licks her ice cream.
"Ruby kundra?" I ask. "Yes, little RK!" She beams at me.
"It has a nice ring to it. I like it." I approve her name.
"Hey, Ruby! Papa likes your name. Yippee!!" She coos to our baby. I smile at her.
"I was thinking whether to name her Emerald or Ruby. Then I wanted her name to start with your first letter so went for Ruby." Madhu says. I actually like her choice of names for our daughter.
"Our baby is indeed a precious gem." I say with a smile. Madhu smiles back at me & whispers "I love you, Rishu."
"Love you too, baby." I say & wipe off the ice cream from her nose.

Next Morning, when I woke to find the left side of my bed empty. Madhu never wakes this early but then now? I hurriedly jump out of the bed & went in search of her. She is not in the bathroom, so she is not having any morning sickness which would have woken her up early.
"Madhu?" I call as I walk out of our bedroom. I didn't get her reply so I went to kitchen & there she is! She stands leaning her back on the kitchen counter, drinking chocolate milk shake but she seems lost in her thoughts.
"Madhu!" I walk around the kitchen island & gently place my hand on her shoulder. "You okay, baby?" I ask her as I brush a strand of hair off her face & tuck it behind her ear.
"No. I am not." she whispers & side hugs me. Why?
"What's wrong?" I ask, worry edging.
"Rishu, from last night she has stopped moving. I am worried."
"What?" I didn't get her.
"Baby is not moving, Rishu. She is so still. I even tried drinking her favorite chocolate milk shake but she is not showing her usual enthusiam by jumping in me when I drink this." she places the glass on the counter & takes my hand & places it on top of her stomach. It feels so hard. Now I am getting worried too. I just hope our baby girl is fine.
"She, lastly kicked when you sang in the beach. Then she didn't move at all. She didn't give my good morning kick too." Madhu says as she starts crying.
"Hey!" I pull her in my arms & rub her back to soothe. "She will be fine. I will just change & come. We will go see the doctor." I say & kiss her head. She nods with her tears refusing to stop. I can't bear seeing her cry.
"Baby, please don't cry. Everything will be okay." I assure her & quickly went back to our room to get ready.

"Do you have an appointment, Ma'am?" the receptionist asks.
"No. but we need to see, Dr. Rishab, urgently."
"Oh! He is on rounds & he will be here shortly. You please wait in his cabin." she instructs. We nod & I take Madhu's hand in mine & lead her to the Doctor's cabin.
"Papa!" Suddenly we hear a little girl's sweet voice as she barges into the cabin.
"Where is my Papa? Do you know aunty?" the little girl asks Madhu. Madhu smiles for the first time since morning & asks "who is your Papa, baby?"
"My Papa is a great Doctor." She opens her hands wide to show how great. "Are you waiting to see him, aunty?" she asks. She is so cute. "My Papa will treat you well. He is the best."
"Hey, Sweety, come here?" I call her.
"My name is not sweety, uncle. Call me Aaradhana. Aaru!"
"Aaru. Beautiful name for a beautiful girl." I gently pinch her cheek making her blush. Then we hear the door opening sound & turn back, expecting it to be the Doctor but it is not. Instead a small boy enters in wearing a white coat. Its so big for him. Ah! He must be Aaru's twin brother. The little boy even managed to get hold of his Dad's Steth as it is hanging around his neck.
"See, Uncle, Aarav is not letting me play the role of Doctor. He is always making me a nurse." Aaru complains to me & I laugh making her glare at me. Even Madhu tries & fails to hide her giggle. Then she rubs her stomach. "Did she kicked you or moved?" I ask. Madhu shakes her head in no. I sigh. These kids are making us forget our worry but still we need to see the Doctor & make sure our baby is fine.
"You have a baby here?" Aarav asks. Madhu nods with a smile.
"Okay, I will check." he says coolly. Then he places his little hands on Madhu's stomach & starts circling over it. Hey! Kiddo! You are not going to play with my wife or my baby.
"Hey! Careful!" I warn him.
"I am the Doctor here so you don't teach my job" He says with attitude making Madhu laugh loudly. He has taken the game little too seriously & acting as if he is a Certified Doctor.
"Aarav! Give me the Stethescope, I will check aunty." Aaru demands.
"You don't have much experince so I will check her." Aarav commands & adjust his steth. He must have noticed his dad closely. They seems so small, may be around 4 or 5 yrs but so smart. Aarav places the mouth of the Steth on Madhu's belly & listens attentively. He shushes his little sister when she pokes him to let her hear through the steth.
"What you here?" Aaru asks him.
"Cricket commentary" He mocks her. "Of Course heart beat! Didn't Dad tell you the other day?" he asks his little sister as if she is dumb. Poor defenseless baby girl, sadly moves towards me & climbs on my lap & leans her head on my chest. Uh-Oh! I am surprised by her reaction. Babies generally doesn't mingle with strangers right? Then I look down to see her lips trembling. I hope she is not going to cry.
"Seems all girl babies like you so much?" Madhu comments.
"That's my charm" I grin at her. She shakes her head.
"Your baby is one lazy sleepy head. Still sleeping!" Aarav finally declares after examining Madhu. I just hope he is correct & our baby is just sleeping & that's the reason why we couldn't feel her movements.
"Really?" Madhu asks him smiling. She seems already relieved & getting back her hopes that our baby girl is doing good.
"Papa!!" Aaru shrieks & jumps from my lap & runs to her father, abandoning me. Finally, the good doctor is here.
"Hello, Mrs. Kundra. Mr. Kundra." He nods at us & walks around the desk & sits on his chair with his daughter on his lap. We smile at him gently & sit back on our seat.
"So tell me what made you pay this impromptu visit? Two weeks back only we had your last scan & also estimated your due date." he asks.
"Doctor, since last night, the baby is not moving. We are really worried."
"I see. Do you feel any abdominal pain, Mrs. Kundra?" he asks.
"No, Doctor. But I feel my stomach so rock solid."
"Hmm... I will test you & if needed we will go for an ultra sound scan." He says.
I grip Madhu's hand tightly as she lays down on the bed for him to do the test. He presses the sides of Madhu's stomach with his gloved hands.
"Gently!" I tell him. He smiles at me. "Dad, knows his job well." I hear Aarav commenting from the other side of the curtain. I just roll my eyew with a smile. "Aarav!" Doctor chides him softly. "Don't mind him." He says, little embarrassed. We just smile back. Then suddenly he taps Madhu's stomach a little hard. "Ouch!" Madhu screams in pain.
"There! There she is moving." Doctor declares. "Nothing to worry Mrs. Kundra. She must be little tired & was sleeping a little long. You probably would have ate a good meal & put her to sleep" doctor laughs. Good meal? All she ate was junk foods.
"I told you right?" Aarav pipes in again. I actually got little offended when he told my daughter was lazy sleepy head but I grudgingly agree, he is so smart & a f**king genius like his father.
Madhu kisses the back of my hand & whispers "Our Ruby is safe." I nod smiling happily.
"So I guess you don't need a scan."
"Aunty, you are gonna name the baby, Ruby??" Aaru asks in excitement when we take back our seats.
"Yes, baby darling." Madhu says & ruffles her head. "You like it?"
"I love it."
"Your kids are so cute, Doctor." Madhu says with a smile.
"And smart too. Your son told rightly that our Ruby was sleeping, even before you checked her." I tell him & look at Aarav who is grinning so proudly. He is naughty & sweet too.
"He wants to become a Doctor huh! Just because his momma loves Doctors. He is one maa ki bachcha!"
"And Papa, I am your princess nah?" Aaru asks feeling left out.
"Yes, my dear princess" He soundly kisses Aaru's cheek.
"Uncle, will you bring Ruby to our house when she comes out? My mom would love to see Ruby" Aaru asks cutely in her sweet little voice.
"Sure, darling." I nod in agreement. Then we take our leave feeling relieved & happy.
