Hey friends.. Sorry for being late and highly irregular... I can't help it much actually.. Have certain health issues with my dad.. He is very bad at taking care of himself and doing any exercises or diet regulations so he has developed what you call a blockage in the heart arteries.. So we will be off to Delhi this week for his surgery.. Do pray for him guys... Well he is healthy though.. Not need ridden or something.. So don't worry too much..
And then I also have a good news at the same time that I have completed with my internship and finally I am a complete registered doctor... Yippee.. Ok now to the updates - -
PART 19
Madhu and RK entered the party hall. It was not a very big affair but yeah it was up to the standard of the Malik's. Madhu was getting nervous seeing all the people.
"what happened Madhu? " RK asked feeling her stiffening and her breaths faster.
"I am getting so nervous Rishabh.. All these people here, must be having so many expectations from me.. This is why I didn't want to join dad, what was the need of this. " Madhu said irritated.
"Come on Madhu relax.. Your father loves you a lot and he wants to celebrate your arrival.. And as for expectations.. You will do much better than their expectations.." RK said smiling confidently at her.
"How do you know? " she asked challenging.
"I know that.. Bi.. wi.." RK said smiling naughtily as if trying to imply that he knows it coz she is his wife.
Madhu shook her head at him and smiled.
"There they are.. " Shamsher said extending his hand towards them as he stood with some of his associates. Both of them walked towards him.
He walked to the center of the hall, and took a mic.
"Hello everyone and thanks for joining us today. So as you all know, tonight's party is to introduce and celebrate my daughter finally joining my business.. And you all know quite well how I had been behind her for this.. So it only fits to have a small celebration on my success to do that.. " everyone laughed at that.
" Here is my daughter and my successor.. Madhubala Malik.." Shamsher introduced her proudly. RK smiled seeing the look on his face. Madhu smiled a little consciously feeling all eyes on herself.
"and I am even more pleasured to tell you that this party is to celebrate another event of my life.. What is it you ask? Well, I want to formally welcome my son in law into the small family of mine... Adv Rishabh Kundra " Shamsher said pointing at RK. While he had an appreciating smile on his face, RK was rather shocked. And even Madhu was stunned. They hadn't expected that.
"I know you must be thinking when did that happen.. But as you all know how much Madhu likes to be simple and out of sight so this wedding was rather quite a small affair.. "
"So won't you include him in your business Mr Malik? " Mr kapoor asked.
"Well you see.. He is my daughter's choice.. And as everyone knows after how much struggle and pestering she has joined me.. So I am scared that the guy she chose, would be even more stubborn than her in these matters.." he laughed saying that and so did Mr Kapoor while Madhu and RK just listened carefully trying to know what was going on.
"But I would be glad if he joins me.. And I am sure he would do so with time.. " he said with an appreciating look.
As soon as Shamsher finished, everyone started to flock around Madhu and RK to congratulate them for their wedding. While they both shook hands trying to smile genuinely but the shock hadn't yet subsided.
After some time, the hall was settled again. Madhu went to Shamsher to discuss about what just happened. RK decided to give them privacy and went to sit in the bar section as he sipped on a whiskey.
"Dad.. What was that? " Madhu said pulling him to one side.
"You really don't want to show them that we are discussing something controversial.." Shamsher said faking a smile. Madhu too faked a smile hearing him.
"Now will you tell me " she said still smiling.
"Come let's have a dance" he said assuring her.
"No dad.. Tell me.. "
"Madhu.. Trust me" Shamsher said sternly.
Madhu nodded her head. She held her father's hand as they joined the other ball dancers.
"Now will you tell me father.. What is it? " she asked smiling.
"I know Madhu.. I did injustice to you.. After Padmini, I didn't look out for you and you must have felt like losing your mom and dad at the same time.." he said guiltily.
"It's nothing like that dad " she said trying to boost him
"But it wasn't my fault Madhu.. I had seen a lot more painful side of her illness... And then saw her putting on a smile in front of you because she always wanted to be the smiling pillar of your life in your memories and not as a weak and dependent woman.. It was only when we were alone that she let out the pain of her sufferings.. And I just felt so helpless.. After she was gone.. I couldn't get over that phase of our life. " he said upset.
Madhu looked at him as tears started to well in her eyes.
"And I realised this that day when Balraj called me up and told me about yours and Rishabh's marriage.. And then talking to you, I got to know about the whole Sultan thing.. That's when I felt how unknown I had been of you lately.. I had grown so far that my daughter didn't think of me to share her pain when she was hurt.. "
"It's nothing like that dad. Things had just messed up real bad in those days..." Madhu said guilty.
"Yes and I wasn't there to clear that mess for you.. But I am happy destiny brought you to Rishabh.. He is a nice guy and I can see how dedicated he is to this relation of whatever level it is... His sincerity shows in his eyes.. "
Madhu looked at RK now, as he was now chatting with Mr Kapoor. She felt as if he is her anchor, who would hold on to her in any storms of life. A slight smile played on her lips. Seeing her smile, Shamsher too looked to that side and saw RK standing there.
"I won't mind if he becomes my son in law for real.. " he said looking at him. Madhu looked at her father suddenly as if stunned.
"Dad..." she said not believing.
"Yes.. " he said nodding his head with a smile.
"But he loves Dipali." she said trying to hide her disappointment.
Shamsher felt like telling her how wrong she was and how he had seen the immense love and respect in RK's eyes for her but decided to let them discover that with their own time and experience, discovering each other with time as he knew that it would only strengthen their relation for future.
"That means you love him? " he asked back.
"Who wouldn't? " Madhu shrugged trying to act casual.
Just then, Shamsher felt a tap on his shoulder. He looked to that side and found RK standing there with a smile.
"May I have a dance with my wife? " he asked with an amused smile teasing him.
Shamsher smiled appreciating his confidence. He had surely grown more comfortable with him and he liked it.
"Sure." Shamsher said giving Madhu's hand in his. Rk didn't even realise how firmly he held her hand as if never to let go.
RK held her waist and they both started to sway to the music. Madhu looked at him as if trying to decipher their relation while he just had a charming smile as they danced looking at each other.
"I thought I would be having the first dance with you.." he said acting disappointed.
"well clearly you were late " Madhu said teasing.
"but I will definitely be the only one you dance with apart from your dad.." he said in a rather possessive tone.
Madhu looked at him surprised but then smiled and looked down. It felt good to hear that from him.
"So was your dad telling you how to get rid of me? " he asked jokingly.
Madhu looked at him amused, "Yeah he was telling me how I can get you off my back and breathe in free again.."
"Well.. I am sure you would have told him how much of a pain I am.. And I won't get away that easily " he said nodding thoughtfully.
Madhu sighed hearing him.." Yes of course.. Poor me.. "
"yeah poor you.." RK said nodding his head.
"I hope you didn't get bombarded on because of dad's sudden declarations.. " she said getting worried.
"Not at all.. It is rather fun..." he said shrugging
"Really? " Madhu asked confused.
"yeah.. I like surprises.." RK said smirking at her.
After some time they are both socialising with other people when RK saw Shamsher sitting at the bar counter while in thoughts. He went and sat beside him.
"Well.. Nice party you have thrown... " he said.
Shamsher laughed slightly.
"So what was all that about..? The son in law stuff.." RK said hoping for something he didn't even know of...
"you think these people wouldn't have got to know about your whole marriage thing..? You both might have started this drama alone in one house. But these things spread like a forest fire.. And I don't want anyone talking anything wrong about my daughter.." he said.
Rk nodded his head. Though he felt disappointed. He kind of wanted to hear that he wants him to marry her for real.
"what did you expect? " Shamsher said looking at him closely. He had seen that look pass on his face
"Nothing.." RK tried to cover up
"I have made a business empire Rishabh.. And having dealt with tens of people everyday I know how to read faces." he said sipping his drink. . "Why don't you tell her? " he asked knowing full well what they both are thinking of.
"I don't want to lose her..." RK said looking at her talking to someone.
"maybe you don't have to.. " he said reasoning..
"this whole marriage thing was her idea.. She did that for me.. I don't want her to think that I am taking advantage of the situation and in a way break her trust.. " RK said.
"Well.. Loving can never be breaking of trust.. " Shamsher said seriously.
RK chuckled hearing him.
"What? " Shamsher asked with a frown.
"You sound more as if you were my father than hers.." RK said feeling happy. He didn't have such a relation with his father. Nowhere near to this.
"Well.. I like you and I won't mind if things materialise between the two of you " he said shrugging.
Rk looked at him rather shocked. "I thought it was difficult to impress you.."
"I bet you, it is difficult " Shamsher said challenging.
"Then.." RK asked confused.
"I recognise people... I never liked Sultan also for some reason.. Even though he was Madhu's friend since years together.. But I felt him change over the time and since last one year.. I felt uncomfortable thinking of Madhu being with him.. I guess I was right " he said sipping his drink.
"Well.. At least Madhu learnt from that relation" RK said pursing his lips not knowing what to say.
"She has cried once Rishabh.. " Shamsher was about to warn him when he interrupted.
"and she will never cry again.. It's my promise" RK said assuring.
Shamsher smiled hearing him. Yes, he was right about this man.
