Apparently, Khan and Kunder are in talks for a comedy flick

hum saath-saath hai, again: Farah Khan, Shirish Kunder and Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh doesn't believe in sitting idle. So when he declared that he was free for eight months as his earlier films (Shankar's Robot and Raj Kumar Hirani's next had fallen through), it was understood that sooner than later, he would take up a project.

According to B-Town buzz, Farah Khan's husband Shirish Kunder who had a falling out with Shah Rukh Khan (as reported in Hitlist on August 18, No Kidding!) is now discussing a quickie comedy with King Khan.

Says as insider, "Shah Rukh and Shirish are in talks. They met at Shah Rukh's Om Shanti Om trial at Yash Raj studios and connected again. Shirish loved OSO and complimented SRK on his performance.

That broke the ice. After that, they touched base again. Shirish has three scripts ready for his production company Prince of India, Joker and a comedy. He has approached SRK for the comedy."

The source continues, "Shirish is producing both films under his own production house called Shirish Kunder Film Company Pvt Ltd. His brother Ashmith is a writer-editor is part of the projects. Shirish hasn't begun casting for Prince of India yet as that will happen after Joker.

Akshay Kumar has been cast for the title role of Joker. Joker is sci-fi action-comedy set in a futuristic era. Prince of India is an epic action-drama set in a period era."

Building bridges

Shah Rukh was approached for Joker but he had a problem with the final draft of the film. He asked Shirish to re-work it but Shirish took offence to that and refused. Naturally, SRK wasn't pleased.

In the early days of the film, Shah Rukh had loved the idea and had complete faith in Shirish. But they had a falling out after that. Farah will be thrilled if SRK and Shirish work together again."

Shirish Kunder was unavailable for comment. When we asked Shah Rukh Khan whether Shirish and he are in talks for doing a comedy he said, "No."
