I didn't plan on posting them alternate days... I was posting them daily that's why they started as short. but work load increased and had to reduce frequency of post

and give time to people to read my chapters as well

now I just post them 3 times a week

I watched too many shows which always leave episode like that so its kind of DEFAULT setting on me now

Chapter 18

As the two ladies reached to the car, Rahul came running down after them.

Payal~ "Bhai, where are you going?" surprised by the sudden turn of event.

Rahul~ "Ofcourse, I m coming with you. Ab wo kya hai na, do khoobsurat ladkiyoon ko main iss tarah akela thode hi na jaane de sakta hoon. Raste mein kuch bhi ho sakta hai. Tum dono shopping karne jaa rahe ho to maine socha ki main bhi apne liye thodi shopping kar lunga... concert ke liye. Since I was free anyway, so why not?" he smilled at his own brilliance.

Maanvi~ "Par mujhe to laga tha ki tumhari concert dresses, designers decide karte hain..."

Rahul~ "Wo sirf design karte hain. Ab mujhe kisi aur ki pasand ki hui dress chahiye ho to?..." clearly hinting his intensions while looking at maanvi.

Payal~ "Ahem... Yahan par khade khade to shopping ho nahi jayegi. Come on... Let's go already!"

They all sat in the car and vinay drove them towards the new market area where today was a grand opening of a dress designer store. Payal and maanvi sat in the back of the car discussing about a lot of things; lady gossips. Rahul was busy texting to twinkle to make some arrangements for lunch in a nice restaurant for the three of them.

ACP was trying to make connection with all the stuff he had seized from that abandoned house with the evidence he has so far, related to raj and guru ji's case. The puzzle seemed more difficult every time something new comes up. An important link is still missing. Without it nothing will make sense.

"Wo letter... shayad wo letter uss missing link tak pahauchne ka tareeka ho. Yadi ye missing link mill jaye to sari kaddi apne aap jud jayengi. Par yeh G. aur K. kaun hain aur unka sabarwals aur uss guru ji se kya connection hai?" ACP thought to himself.

It seems to him like its time to call Mr. Raj Sabarwal again and shed some light on the photos they have found in that house. Maybe he knows who this G. and K. are. It might be long shot but that is an easy way to find about it.

Raj sabarwal also has a habbit of hiding truth from ACP which he does not see necessary to share. Maybe doing a little digging before calling raj to stop by, be a better idea for ACP right now. ACP leaves his office to meet the commissioner and get his permission to dig further into the past of raj sabarwal.

ACP soon produced his theory and the evidence he has collected in an attempt to convince the commissioner to allow him and his team to further the investigation. At first commissioner wasn't very supportive of the make believe theory because if it turned out empty, raj sabarwal will trash this whole department. Once ACP assured that this investigation will be kept unknown to Raj and that this might be the very key to solving his case, commissioner gave him the permission.

With the permission that he needed, ACP asked his tech guy to find out about raj's college life; friends and other social lifestyle related stuff. ACP hoped that this may turn up something and soon.

Shaleen called the sponsorers for a meeting about his newly recorded album. He wanted to go through the plans about marketing and doing a country tour as a part of promoting his first album. The sponsorers were not happy about this meeting at such short notice and that too right before his brother's concert. But they agreed to meet him anyway to respect the reputation held by the Sabarwal name.

Shaleen insisted on setting up the meeting somewhere outside instead of at the studio or the sabarwal residence. They all decided to meet at Raddison Blu for lunch and discuss shaleen's plans. Shaleen arrived few minutes early to check on the meeting set up which was impeccable.

Shaleen self-talk "Nothing will go wrong now, and who can ever find out about this? Rahul, you wait and watch how I will steal everything right from under you."

As the sponsorers arrived, Shaleen welcomed them all. He was a perfect humble rising star in front of everyone. Afterall, he is also a sabarwal.

Sponsor1/Mr. Sen~ "So Mr. Shaleen, on phone you were quite excited to discuss the plans for your first album which is why we are here. But where is Mrs. Maanvi? She is also your co-singer and this album belongs as much to her as to you."

This must have dropped Shaleen straight from the sky on the floor as his face expressions suddenly changed from excited to grim. Before he had a chance to spill any lies, other sponsorer answered that question.

Sponsor2/Mr. Khurana~ "Oh, Mrs. Maanvi is busy with Mr. Rahul's concert. I m so pleased to see them supportive of each other. Such a lovely couple they are. Especially Mr. Rahul, he has not left a single chance of..."

That was the last straw for shaleen. He called this meeting for his album and whole discussion going on about rahul and maanvi. Without wasting another moment, he interrupted them and brought back the discussion to the main topic.

Shaleen~ "Gentlemen, please have a seat. Today, I called you all for a discussion about the promotion plans for my very first album. As you all are very busy people, let us not waste your precious time and begin this meeting."

Shallen without wasting any more time started to explain what he wished to do for marketing and his ideas about an on-road tour around the country.

Sponsor3/Mr. Sharma~ "This plan is all well and good on paper Mr. Shaleen but I think you are stretching it a bit too far. This album hasn't been in market long enough yet to even make it to the charts and you wish to go ahead with an on-road tour."

Sponsor4/Mr. Tiwari~ "Not to mention that you arranged this meeting without your co-singer. Not even once you have expressed any wishes to even include her in your plans. Seems to me that you are only interested in promoting yourself. That doesn't sound very professional of you Mr. Shaleen."

Those words were so true that Shaleen was almost lost at words. What he had planned to achieve from this meeting and the outcomes were falling downright into the pit he was digging for rahul and maanvi. He was not expecting this at all.

Feeling that this meeting was an utter waste of their time with no excuses for shaleen's completely unprofessional behavior, all the sponsorers decided to call this meeting done and take their leave.

Shaleen, felt that his singing career is getting trampled on, tried to convince them to stay and give him another chance to better explain his plans. But everything that happened was enough to disappoint the sponsorers.

Out trio; Rahul, Maanvi and Payal, been shopping for their dresses for rahul's concert so far. Being very picky about the dress-n-style that would suit them for that occasion can be tiring. Rahul had received a text from twinkle, over two hours ago, about their lunch reservations.

Checking on the time, rahul asked vinay to take them straight to the Raddison Blu for their lunch. Soon they arrived at their destination. Rahul lead the way to the reception. One of the guys at reception escorted our trio to their reserved table.

Rahul being a gentleman offered a seat to maanvi and payal, then took a seat for himself. They looked through the menu and placed the order for their three course meal. They talked about the shopping they did so far and what more they need to buy for holi celebration party.

Waiter brought in their entre, then main course. Soon they moved on to desserts. They were having an amazing lunch unaware of the meeting taking place between the sponsorers and Shaleen.

As the sponsorers were walking out from their meeting which was full of disappointment to say the least, they saw our trio having a hearty lunch on the other side of the hall. One of the sponsorers decided to come and greet Rahul and Maanvi.

Sponsor3~ "Hello Mr. n' Mrs. Sabarwal, and Miss" paying a gentle respect to payal even though he didn't knew her very well.

Rahul~ "Hello Mr. Sharma, what a pleasant surprise! What brings you here?"

Sponsor3~ "Oh, we were summoned here by your brother, Mr. Shaleen, to discuss about plans to promote the album. I think other members will be glad to have you join us so we can properly discuss them now that both you and Maanvi ji are here." He expressed enthusiasm to have a meeting with them.

Rahul and maanvi shared a glance with each other and agreed to join them. Rahul also introduced payal to him as a family member and he had no objection if she wished to join the meeting as well. Mr. Sharma went ahead to bring other sponsorers up to speed with this new development and they all went back into the meeting hall. Rahul Maanvi and Payal soon followed.

Shaleen was furious about this all. Not that he could do anything at all as all his plans were completely foiled now. Rahul took the lead of this meeting now. First of all, he introduced Payal to the sponsorers and enlightened them to how she has just returned from Australia after completing her studies. He also added that payal will soon be entering into business world with her fresh marketing ideas and schemes.

Rahul added "... It would be a very nice of you all to give her a chance to bring forth her fresh ideas. In next few days we will find out how the album fares in the country while in meantime, payal will also have enough time to prepare her ideas and presentation."

Sponsor1~ "I think we should still hear from her about what she would prefer to do and how she would like to handle a challenge like this. A new idea or fresh view never hurts but if she wishes to enter the business she needs to understand that she will be facing off against professionals and experienced people."

Payal took her stand and accepted the request "That is very kind of you all. I thank you all for giving me this opportunity. As Mr. Sen and my cousin Rahul said, I would very much like to speak for myself. I may not have the experience but fresh ideas if presented properly are good to be around. If you ask me, concerts and tours are something almost every popular rockstar or band prefers to choose for promotion purpose. But what if we can bring something better this time for promotion? It may seem like an arrow in the dark but I believe that we can make it happen and this idea can only be best explained with proper tools and a presentation. If you agree, if not I can still try to explain as best of my ability but it will not be much of an impression as that of a proper presentation with estimates and everything."

Every sponsor in the room shared some understanding looks and whispers among themselves before concluding that they will very much like to see this through. They loved payal's confidence and professionalism in her speech. If she can deliver what she promised, she will be well on a new career of her own along with Shaleen and maanvi's singing careers.

Rahul was very proud of his wife and his cousin sister. With the meeting wrapped up, rahul maanvi and payal resumed their plans for shopping for holi party. Shaleen was very upset about how he got trashed by all the sponsorers, that too in front of rahul, maanvi and payal. Burning in rage, he left without a word to anyone, not knowing where he would go or what he would do right now.
