i do not think that is the general opinion about Fawad back in Pakistan. I assume that majority of them still love him and is proud of him, because twitter is filled with praises from many Pakistanis, be it common people or the known celebrities over there.
People must understand the difference between fiction and non fiction, i am sure a lot of pakistanis have played rapists and murderers onscreen, so does that mean that they will be hated ? Being a homosexual is no way as harmful as being a rapist, and i am a muslim and i know that Islam forbids any kind of crime. Fawad himself played a rapist in his very first film, which is iconic, so does that mean he went against Islam ? No, that film was meant to teach people that Islam cannot be preached, it should be accepted from your heart and is not a tag to be showed off, similarly in K&S , the film has its own message.
I have a lot of Pakistani friends, they still love Fawad, they are very happy and proud that he achieved success and applause with this risky and courageous role.
If we take every single thing in our life from the POV of religion, then i am sure 90% of us are just NOT true muslims, but i still believe in the fact that religion is more about acceptance and devotion and less about rules and regulations. Covering your whole head with a hijab and praying 5 times a day but equally leading a life with bribe and black money, that is not Islam. I know such people exist, i also know people who hardly know the deep hadith but still pray and try to lead an honest life and i do choose the latter person over the former.
We all cannot talk negative about an entire nation or their perspective, yes Fawad will also face criticism, but to say he deserves to be bandoned, and to question his Imaan and his religious belief is extreme, infact it is against Islam because Islam prohibits a mortal human being to question some one else's Imaan, we are no one to judge that how good of a devotee he is, just because he takes his profession as a challenge, and he has the guts to do something which is controversial does not make him a munafiq.
Lastly, just because some people hate him and think that he should never get love from Pakistan, and he does not care about Pakistan , please care to explain from which University did you get your PHD on Islamic culture or Patriotism ? I am sure , you will end up calling me a Fawad fan girl, but i still assure you that i am giving my opinion as a neutral person here, if there would be any other celeb in place of Fawad, i would say the same thing.
