Kali feels indebted to the man who saved her life after her father buried her. He gave her food, clothing, shelter no matter in what circumstances (as Gauri's Kaala Teeka). His stance of not educating her and everything is being ignored in her mind. While that attitude of being thankful to some extent is justified, she is not seeing that there is no point of trying to bring about a change in terms of Badke Papa and Manjhi Maa's relationship because no matter how much he claims he loved Manjari, he does not deserve her.

Manjhi Maa is right about not going back to the person for whom superstition mattered so much that he did not have any respect for his first wife and an orphan child who deserved much better in life.
