i agree that no living person/s should be called gods or goddesses.

in fact many top ranking musicians have used many strong arm tactics to keep away aspiring and young singers. this was by denying them the platforms required as their launch pads.

now that different tv stations are vying with each other to mine the music talents in india, the leaders of the music industry have no other option but to toe the line.

thats how different singers coach participants, take part in mentoring programs, sit as judges etc etc.

nice to be a part of history and to see the face of music changing.

While no one can be a bigger fan of Smt. M S Subbulakshmi than myself, I still feel that we cannot equate a human being to Mata Saraswati. If a person is able to sing beautifully, it is because she/ he has been blessed by Saraswathi Maa and not because he/she is Saraswathi maa.

In fact, when a person is a wonderful singer, we say in Tamil "Avarukku saraswati kataaksham paripoornamaa irukku", which essentially means that "he is truly blessed by the goddess Saraswathi"
