Where has romance n fun sucked out of Indian TV shows?

Couldn't u/stand where to make a post on this but this really saddens me. As a teenager I used to love the Indian TV for its peppy romance. From youth based shows like MJHT, DMG, LRL, Remix etc to melodious Indipop numbers...that era was just something else. Watching the cute romantic music videos was something I still cherish...the soulful vocals, the meaningful lyrics, the modern yet rooted characters. ❤️ And now what all you have in the name of singles is talk of 'grass' and 'vodka'

And the same with tv shows...cant imagine any of today's onscreen couples ever coming closer to the chemistry we saw b/w Sujal-Kashish, Armaan-Ridhima, Samrat-Gunjan, Nupur-Mayank, Rajveer-Naina, Madhu-RK, Arjun-Arohi and many more. Yes the romance used to be run of the mill but atleast it was farrr better than the chudail dayan crap shown these days. It's really sad to see such a degraded phase of Indian TV.

Fun...Bahu hamari rajni_kant---life ok cyborg getting married to an indian family, husband scientist

romances with storyline---ek duuje ke vaaste, Sony

Legal tussle plus Romance --- Dahleez starplus...

try it...😊..refreshing, peppy and fun, solid acting and great chemistry between leads...

Tried the last two but cant really feel the vibe between the actors. Specially in the sony one, both actors r quite amateurish. Their younger versions are better actors.

Nowdays TV is so pathetic. I literally miss Star one all the time. It is nowdays better to watch discovery, National Geographic and other lifestyle channel over the soap operas

That's where Kdramas come in. I went to Kdramaland in search of more ArHi's and found 30 more couples that were just as good as ArHi. 😆

Totally agree with you...All those pairs are classics! IMO it doesn't get better than Sujal-Kashish and RK-Madhubala, eye candy wise!

TV has become a waste deposit centre in the last few years...Why are a collections of naagins, dayaan, dusri patnis, aatmas, kaala jaadu, and neverending plot lines that are regressive and unoriginal fetching TRPs?

I think we really need a shift in TV in content and direction...shows in India need to be finite and quality orientated and the audience is the only force that truly has the power to trigger this change.

Have heard good things about some of the new shows though...MAPH, Dahleez, Kuch Rang, Ek Duje Ke Vaste, Bahu Rajni Kanth...

same here, kdramas are a welcome relief!...and am now addicted to it!!!
