Amif very well written !!! True mahan DT is so obsessed with the power that he fails to see anything beyond this. He is like a king who is obsessed with a throne that he doesn't want to give it away no matter what. This created lack of respect for any human beings in his life. As you said he wants a perfect heir who continues to increase the power for many more years.Greed is built in his system and thus how much ever he has he is never satisfied. Greed is one reason for destruction of any human being.

As far TP is concerned it was intialy DT who was responsible for worsening his life later TP filled himself with so much hatred towards DT that he seeks only and only vengeance and he wants nothing else from his life. Both have filled their lives with such strong negative emotions that they fail to see the blessings in their lives respetively. Durgaji whom TP values the most he doesn't care to listen to her and sushmaji being a very wise lady he never gave her the values she deserved. TP along with others are nothing but puppets at the hands of DT ,they only play along with his tunes.

What you said is true about raja being a soothing balm to his bruised ego.Thus he considers him as his kind little does he know he is simply giving milk to a poisonous snake when it wants it is definitely going to bite him for it wants its benefits.

hi Aimf pardons for being a day to respond to your brilliantly expressed post. You chose the character that occupies the key role in AN.. Dashrant the patriarchical head of the household and the faith head of many humble , devout devottes of Banaras. Yes he is self obsessed and wants some as perfect as him to step into his shoes,rocking chair. I reckon its his placement amongst people who believe in knowing about their future.. the well boding of their stars ,that which puts dashrant in a position of being nothing less than a godhead figure. Basically people's blind faith , has fanned his clout within himself. I dont blame him for considering himself above all else. He is seen as expert on numerolgy which he cashes into for his livelihood.. Yes dashrant I feel latches on to the notion of keeping his power in place..,yes he sought people who would aid him ,but as you explained in your post.. the man was let down by his blood..shambu and by his son viplav whom dashrant nurtured ,,but then dhani comes and changes viplav ,no wonder dashrant loathes the girl through and through..
Now intersetingly you mention raja as the sun/sonin dshrant's life.. if you ask me, this raja son will cause the eclispe in dashrant's life.. and you and I want to be around to see it! kanak could be DT's perfect son but her gender fails her.. plus she is firebrand and erratic, likely to do the unexpected! so who will be DT's power expansion tool??
