Alia and Siddharth are coming after huge box office dissapointments (SHANDAAR and BROTHERS). With that being said, KAPOOR & SONS will take a decent opening as the starpower in the film is decent and Dharma is attached to the film. Kar Gayi Chull song is a hit as well. As already reported, there is a big India vs Pakistan cricket match on Saturday night, which will dent collections that night.The overall effect won't be big though as the early reports for the film seem to be positive. There are some possible negatives I see in this film, such as Alia repeating a similar role for what feels like the millionth time already in a not-so-long career yet, and Siddharth has done similar type Dharma multiplex rom-coms too before. With that being said, with the early reports for the film being positive, it seems that the family-oriented story (as shown in the trailer) is what will work with the audience. People who have seen the film so far (including superstar Aamir Khan) seem to have gotten emotional after seeing the film, which is a good thing obviously.

Fawad Khan seems to be popular with females and he will attract females to the theatres.

One more thing: the majority of this film's business will be from multiplexes in big cities, as this section of the audience will like the film. At single screens of mass areas, the film will not work at all, starting with the English title of the film itself!

My box office predictions for KAPOOR & SONS:

Opening Day: 6 crores net

Opening Weekend: 20+ crores net

Lifetime Collections: 50+ crores net

Overall Verdict: Hit
