Sumitra with urmila and shrutkirti's scene was delightful to watch. She was just perfect. Very understanding towards her daughter in laws.

@LadyMacbeth who told kausalya is not respected. She is a much respected woman of Ramayan. A pious woman with endearing quality of accommodating everything, commitment to her duties, she walked as per the rules of raghukul taking personal pain. Sumitra is admired because of her selfless dharma. Kausalya was expected to do a lot of things as the crown queen and she met those expectations.
Sumitra no one expected anything from her. Vanvass was never for Lakshman. But with the blessing she gives to Lakshman that one sentence takes Sumitra above Kausalya. Because she exceeds expectations.
" From today treat Ram as Dasrath, Sita as myself and let jungle be your Ayodhya." is the blessing this mother gives to her son. And with freewill and pleasantness she allows Lakshman to accompany Ram.

The youngest and the most wisest Queen for sure

In some versions of Ramayana , it is said that she calmed down vishwamitra's rage ( when he became angry with dashrath for not sending rama and laskhman with him ) in the same way like queen Tara calmed down Lakshman's wrath to save sugriv.

Nice post Shruti .
Absolutely very touching the way Sumitra portrays her motherhood to both her vadhus !
Infact shruthkirti must have felt very comfortable with her at Ayodhya especially after being away from sita didi for the first time !
Sumitra has always been such a wonderful charecter. And that is being very nicely portrayed in the show too ( earlier too when they showed the disagreement between Kaikeyi and Dashrath , it was she who knowing the background Was very worried .
The point of highlight of this charecter has been - being there for all without expecting anything in return !

@vipraja sumitra speaks very less. But each and every action of hers touches us to the core. I still remember the way she hides her tears hugging Kausalya when she sends Shatrughna with Bharat.
It showed great strength of character.
