I know Ram Kayeki scene was a fictional representation still I liked the hidden meanings of their conversation.

Ram saying that a new phase is about to start in my life, that is so true. Vanvaas was a completely new track in his life. Being first born of the King his ascending the throne was not a big deal but vanvaas was. It was completely different than what others thought would happen in his life. From that point his life took a 180 degree turn. He was about to be crowned as King and suddenly he was banished from the same kingdom. A prince in one moment an ascetic in another.
He also asked his mother to bless him so that his actions and decisions add to the glory of his linage. And that is what exactly happened, Raghukul became immortal because of him.

Kiyeki blessed him saying may you start a new 'pravaha' in Raghukul ki 'Dhara'. That wish came out to be true. What Ram did was unheard of, even centuries later he is seen as an ideal man. Raghukul was already known for their vachan palan but Ram was the first person who made great sacrifices to keep his father's words. Those vachan were not his, he was not bound to keep them. I don't know how true it is but heard that even Dussharat tried to stop him by saying that those were my promises not yours.
Later Bharat denied sitting on throne instead he kept Ram's slippers there. This again was a new 'Dhara' which was a result of Ram's decision.

Ayodhya today is considered to be one of the most holy city among Hindus because of Ram. Ram Rajya is considered to be an epitome to peace, prosperity and happiness. Raghukul reached the peak of it's fame because of Ram. The blessings that he sought from his mother turned out to b true, word by word.

Being the first born by tradition he would be King. That's a known fact for him and Praja. Knowing that he will take over from Dasarath some day is one thing and when that day actually comes it would be overwhelming.
It is a new phase of his life taking over as King so the blessings are in order. Ofcourse that his life took a different course is a different thing. Niyati had to take its course for the greater good.

I never said the day would have been of any less significance to Ram, his family and the praja because it was bound to happen. Definitely it was a momentous event in their lives. I was just saying that here 'new phase' was used in literal sense of the word. His life took a 180 degree turn from that point.

@Sumedha I also actually loved that scene. It was a beauty with all the symbolisms. If you look Kaikeyi was on top of ghat and Ram below the ghat. He bows to Kaikeyi who blesses him let you bring a new dhara in the raghukul.
Yes Ram's decision to take vanvass infact brings in the new dara. New order of things. Because Dasrath says it is not Ram's words, but still adhering to the boons Kaikeyi got, by bowing in front of her rage Ram accomplishes peace in Ayodhya.
Because if Ram had ascended the throne without granting Kaikeyi the boons, in real sense Manthara would have won. They would have manipulated Bharath telling look when it came to power your brother forgot dharma and vachan.
And end result war between brothers. But his bowing down took the power from a gossip monger Manthara. Brother's bond was intact. And Ram got his power the way he wanted with everyone's blessings and no ill feelings.
