Shaandaar was a clear no-show, but no regrets: Alia Bhatt

March 9, 2016 I.A.N.S

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt admits she was "not happy" with how her last release Shaandaar fared at the box office, but she says she doesn't regret doing the movie.

Asked about the failure of Shaandaar, Alia said here: "I was not happy, obviously. It was a clear no-show. If it's not a good film, then it will not do well, I will not say we made a good film and it didn't do well."

"Yes, there were problems... But, I will not blame anyone either. I will take full responsibility for it. When I signed the film, I did it happily and I still have no regrets. Now it has happened, so it's okay. Now I will work harder and move on."

The movie was directed by Vikas Bahl of Queen fame.

Alia will next be seen in Dharma Productions's Kapoor & Sons with Sidharth Malhotra.

"Working with Dharma Productions is like coming home. It's like a family to me. Karan (Johar) is a very liberal father... he is like my father and he gives me a lot of space. When I worked with Sidharth earlier, we were newcomers, so we were very nervous. This time we had a great time as I had a certain bond with him."

Directed by Shakun Batra, Kapoor & Sons also features Rishi Kapoor, Ratna Pathak Shah and Rajat Kapoor. The film is slated for release on March 18.

A child setting A dead old lady in a chair on fire can never be a good film. It's Shocking that the guy who made Queen, made this disaster called Shaandar.
Shaandar is a Bollywood nightmare.

I like Alia. She is one of the most sensible intelligent girls in the industry, really. Even if she didnt say the name of a politican right. She knows how to conduct herself in the industry..doesnt take pangas just to show off..doesnt take bull sh*t directed at her lying down..yeah.
She is really nice. Honest...without making a noise about it.

Word... She is the coolest of all the actresses I know of. It's good seeing her sharing the responsibility for failure of the film. Unlike some actors/actresses we have seen in the recent past playing blame game.

^ Oh wow. That's so disturbing! What was the context? I watched less than half a hour of the movie but hadn't seen this!

Now that Ranveer 's movie is a BB she wants to be linked to him. I hope he learned his lesson with Rocky aur Rani. She has no shame at all. "...
