Janki finds out Raunak is in love with Kajal. Kajal is friends with Akshay and she respects Raunak as her senior in school. Janki completely disapproves of all of this as she is afraid of losing her son to some girl. She sees Kajal as a threat. She eventually creates a plan to separate Raunak and Kajal forever.

She manipulates a scenario in which Raunak's confession love letter which for whatever reason was never signed by him 🤔 is signed by Akshay (he was forced to sign it by Janki). On the day Raunak gives the letter Kajal angrily rejects him and tears up the letter. It isn't until later she sees that the love letter is signed by Akshay. She has some time to think about the words in the letter and realizes it was a very pure confession. Later Akshay and Kajal end up getting hauled off to the police station (can't remember for the exact reason) and Janki shows up with the parents. Akshay gets engaged to Kajal with their parents present. Everyone thinks Akshay is in love with Kajal. Akshay is completely guilt ridden at his state of affairs as Janki has put pressure on him threatening to due harm to his parents (such as putting false claims of fraud or stealing money, etc) if he doesn't marry Kajal and play along with her plan.

Raunak gets sent away on the day of Akshay and Kajal's marriage. But Raunak ends up racing back from the airport and finds out what is about to occur. He desperately tries to make it to the wedding but arrives just in time to see his best friend Akshay put sindoor on Kajal, officially marrying her.

Raunak has a fight with Akshay and breaks all ties with him. Kajal has no clue about it as they are above on a cliff talking while she is down below. She can however make out they are arguing and Raunak is extremely upset. Raunak leaves and Kajal comes to Akshay who makes her promise to never ask him about what just happened.

Raunak cannot stand people who lie. He has framed the torn love letter to remind himself of the betrayal of his ex best friend Akshay so he will never let someone lie to him again. He basically lives a pretty sad life as he hasn't been able to move on in his life. He has no friends or girlfriend/fiance/wife. He just works.

As Fate would have it Kajal comes into town and shows up at Janki's house. Neeti, Raunak's younger sister is getting married. We find out that Janki has arranged all of this and Neeti is not happy. She lies to Raunak that she is fine with her mother's decision even when she is not. Kajal comes and says that someone is trying to stop the wedding. Drama happens as Neeti faints and it is revealed in private to the immediate family that Neeti is pregnant.

It is then discovered that Vinay, Kajal's younger brother is actually Neeti's boyfriend. And the two had planned to run away on the day of the wedding. Everything soon gets exposed and Neeti and Vinay are separated. But things get sorted after much drama and Janki reluctantly agrees to the marriage.

Through the whole Neeti and Vinay drama, Raunak and Akshay meet once and again and there is a lot of drama about what happened 5 years ago. We find out that Akshay and Kajal have a cute 4-5 year daughter named Sakshi that suffers from poor health. Kajal is still in the dark about what happened between Raunak and Akshay.

Kajal then devises a blackmailing plan on the same day the families are meeting to discuss about Vinay and Neeti's marriage. Raunak meets little Sakshi and develops a good bond with her.

Akshay and Janki met up at the same location to drop off the money to the blackmailer forcing them to argue and reveal what happened 5 years ago. Kajal is shocked to find out the truth. Janki finds Kajal's bracelet nearby. Now Janki, Kaamini (Janki's friend), Akshay, and Kajal all know that they are the only ones who know the truth about what happened 5 years ago.

There is confrontation scene between Kajal and Janki. Kajal reveals that she recorded the conversation that Akshay and Janki had. Janki invites Kajal and Akshays family to stay overnight. Janki and Kaamini try to get her phone and erase the video but are not successful.

Kajal makes Akshay promise not to tell Raunak the truth because he is still shattered by the supposed betrayal that Akshay did to him. If they tell him his mother was the real culprit he may not be able to trust anyone ever again. So they agree that Akshay just needs to get Raunak to forgive him and somehow patch up their relationship.

Next day Akshay pesters Raunak and gets into Raunak's car refusing to leave. Raunak drives off angrily and the two start fighting about what happened 5 years ago. Raunak eventually parks the car near a curved section of the road which overlooks a cliff. A large semi truck turning the corner ends up slamming into the car where the two friends are arguing. The car is now titering on the edge of the cliff.

Kajal and Janki both saw Akshay and Raunak get in the same car are tense about what could happen to both of them. Their calls are not being picked up so they decided to go look for them. Little Sakshi ends up going with them.

They eventually find Raunak's car on the edge of the cliff. Akshay convinces Raunak and Kajal that Raunak should be saved first. Raunak gets out and attempts to save his friend who refuses to take his hand or do anything until Raunak forgives him. Both Kajal and Raunak try to reason with Akshay to get out of the car first and then they can talk later. But just as Akshay starts bringing up the subject of the truth about 5 years ago (making Janki really nervous as she is standing behind the car) the car goes falling down the cliff.

Kajal, Janki, Raunak, and little Sakshi are all shocked.

Sakshi faints and Kajal becomes catatonic. Both get sent to the hospital. Eventually Akshay's body is found but is in extremely rough shape. Raunak starts taking responsibility for Kajal and Sakshi's care at the hospital making Janki extremely nervous.

Akshay makes it through surgery but is in critical condition. He calls everyone to his room to say good bye. He takes the blame for what happened 5 years ago and tells Raunak that he did betray him. He then tells Raunak that he needs to take care of Kajal and Sakshi when he is gone. His dying wish is for Raunak to marry Kajal and take care of her and Sakshi.

Janki is worried sick that Raunak is going to fulfill Akshay's dying wish. Raunak convinces his mother that nothing like that is going to happen. He promises his mother that he will marry any girl of her choosing.

Janki lets Raunak go visit Kajal and family to see how they are doing. Raunak comes and finds the family is in debt and are facing some other troubles. Raunak makes his intentions clear that he is there as Akshay's best friend and he considers them family. Akshay's parents accept him because they had watched Raunak grow up when they use to work for Janki. Raunak also makes it clear to Kajal that he is not there to fulfil Akshay's last wish. He lets everyone know that he will marry whomever his mother chooses.

Munmun, Kaamini's daughter is chosen by Janki as the bride to be. Raunak accepts the marriage. We see that Kaamini and Munmun are just plotting to get into the household so they can live a lavish lifestyle.

Munmun starts her games. Kajal overhears her conversation with her mother and tries to warn Janki of the truth. Janki does not care. Eventually Munmun and Kajal have a confrontation and Munmun admits she is only marrying Raunak for his money. Kajal slaps her and tries to talk sense into her. Munmun laughs it off and runs outside to manipulate the situation so that Raunak will get angry at Kajal and she will have effectively separated them.

Kajal gets angry and tells the truth about what happened 5 years ago. She goes to get her phone to reveal the recording only to find that it has been erased. She accuses Janki who acts all innocent. Raunak unable to handle all the allegations against his mother tells Kajal to stop. He then says he will never set foot in the house again. He will however continue to honor his relationships with the family for Akshay's sake. Kajal's in-laws, dad, and brother are all shocked to learn the truth about Janki.
