why doesnt akshay get his due

in the last 4 years, hes been part of omg, special26, baby, holiday. these were all good films but dont have a single major award in their name. I dont mean like best actor or best film, but they havnt even gotten any nominations even for screenplay, editing, story . Did they not get nominated just because akshay is associated with them because they are easily better than alot of films that got nominated. This year he had airlift which i think will not get any nominations again. its really sad when a person is trying to do good work and gets ignored year after year.

Akshay is very inconsistent. For every one major hit, he gives around 3 flops. I guess he gets enough recognition and also, he probably earns the most money every year. Film hit ho ya flop, he gets some money and for hit films, he even gets a huge share of the profits. Ab aur kya chahiye

what dues are you expecting at this stage of his career? I think he has got more than enough.

Because they were good movies but nothing special.
I just wish Akki becomes bit choosy.

im not really talking about box office or public acceptance. i am talking about the recoginition a movie gets on award nights. his career has nothing to do with how good a film is. neither is the fact that he is inconsistent in his movie choices. every movie should be critiqued on its own merit. what the actor does in other movies shouldnt matter. baby, special 26, airlift were more critically acclaimed than a lot of award winning films whether its critics reviews or imdb. airlift got better reviews than bajirao mastani but i dont think itll win any awards. most people consider omg better than pk but pk got loads of awards while omg had none

Akshay does not get his due because he is here for the money; this is something he has admitted to doing. Yes, for the sake of his fans hes done a Holiday, Baby, Gabbar, Airlift, Special 26 etc etc... But let us not forget that most of his films have been horrible.

If he wants to get his due as an "actor" - he needs to be more consistent and not pickup horrible work. However, as a brand I think his consistency, stability and the amount of work he gets is more than enough in terms of getting his due.

He's a pretty huge star though regardless.

Akshay has been doing a lot of crappy films. Infact even in the last 2-3 years 75% of his films have been crappy. It takes a long time to break an image. Especially when you have a Baby, Special 26, Holiday and Airlift but you also have a Singh is Bling, Brothers, Khiladi 786, Gabbar, Entertainment, Boss, OUATIMD, Joker, Rowdy Rathore to name a few. But having said that I think with Airlift people have started taking him seriously now.

In a year he does 7 films on average. And only 2 are good. 5 were bad.
