Blockbusters we wish Kajol hadn't rejected!

Kajol is undoubtedly Bollywood's most popular and loved actress Kajol. Over the years she has given the industry some of the biggest hits of all times. With her flawless act and meaningful roles, Kajol reigned Bollywood for almost a decade. While films like DDLJ, KKHH, K3G would have looked incomplete without her stunning act, there is a long list of Bollywood movies the actress rejected which went on to be huge hits. On her birthday we list out the roles we wish she would have said 'yes' to.

Rani Mukerji in KANK- Kajol was Karan Johar's first choice for the role of 'Naina' in Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. However due to her busy schedule Kajol could not take up the role. She was already shooting for the Aamir Khan starrer 'Fanaa' then. Rani was offered to play the role played by Preity Zinta in the movie. But after Kajol backed out, Rani played her part and Preity Zinta played the part that was initially offered to Rani.

Karisma Kapoor in Dil To Pagal Hai- The role which made Karisma Kapoor win the National Award was first offered to Raveena Tandon. After Raveena rejected the offer, the role went on to a number of actresses but each of them declined. Kajol too was offered this role but she refused to play a supporting role in the movie. The film went on to be the second highest grosser of Bollywood in 1997. And all three stars won a number of awards that year for their performances.

Rani Mukerji in Chalte Chalte-nAishwarya Rai Bachchan was the first choice for this Shah Rukh Khan starrer. But due to the growing problems between Salman and Aishwarya, Shah Rukh allegedly decided to dropp Aishwarya. After Aishwarya, Kajol was the next choice for the role. But due to her busy schedule Kajol had to decline the role. After Kajol, the role was offered to Rani Mukerji who had initially rejected the role saying it was too similar to her role in 'Saathiya'. But eventually Rani agreed to play the part.

Karisma Kapoor in Shakti- The Power- The film was supposed to be Sridevi's comeback film. But due to personal reasons Sridevi could not play the role of 'Nandini'. Kajol was offered the role as the director thought she was the perfec choice to play a charcater as bold as 'Nandini'. Kajol was the first choice for the role of Nandini. Karisma Kapoor was nominated under the Best Actress category for her hard hitting act in the movie.

I am glad she refused KANK and Shakti.Shakti was not a blockbuster.It was a big flop.

I didn't knew she was offered Chalte chalte and Shakti though.

Really? Karishma's role in DTPH? I can't even imagine Kajol dancing the way Karisma did

The role in DTPH was not suitable for her.

As for KANK, she didn't turn it down due to her busy schedule as the article claims, but because she was not happy with the role/script.

iam glad kari did DTPH..it is a tailor made role for her...who knows with kajol doing that film it would have flopped ..

DTPH i have different information...

URMILA was booked for DTPH and Karishma K was booked for dillagi...

and within few days before shoot yash raj replaced urmi with Kk and KK without informing left dillagi which fumed sunny deol and he took urmi there...

still you will see because of this sunny left janwar on anger as it started KK there too...as we say in film you don't do dushmani as equation changes very fast

and when kk wanted to comeback in acting she still approached sunny but he didn't cast her the feud i think goes too long this time

She wasn't offered she volunteered. She knew shahrukh was having trouble to find a heroine for the movie so she wanted to help. Later she couldn't do it because she was pregnant. Shahrukh said in a radio interview during dilwale promotion.

DTPH was offered to zillion heroines and nobody wanted to compete against Madhuri that too in dance
She vouluntered to do Chalte Chalte Srk said in a Filmfare intv
when he had to remove Ash, he didnt had a heroine and that's when Kajol said that she will do it but she was also planning to start a family that time and she discovered that she is pregnant that's why she couldn't do the movie
She said No to dil se coz she had given dates to KKHH
And she chose a friend over his fav director
