First Verse:
Tuhi Meri Hai Saari Zameen
You are my base [literally, "you are all my ground"]
Chaahe Kahin Se Chalun, Tujh Pe Hi Aake Rukun
No matter where I walk, I come back to you
Tere Siva Main Jaaoon Kahaan
Where can I go without you?
Koi Bhi Raah Chunun, Tujh Pe Hi Aake Rukun
No matter what road I choose, I come back to you
Tum Mile Toh Lamhein Tham Gayein, Tum Mile Toh Saare Gham Gayein
When I met you, time stopped, When I met you, all my sadness was gone
Tum Mile Toh Musquraana Aa Gaya
When I met you, I learned how to smile
Tum Mile Toh Jaadu Chha Gaya, Tum Mile Toh Jeena Aa Gaya
When I met you, there was magic, when I met you I learned how to live
Tum Mile Toh Maine Paaya Hai Khuda
When I met you, I found God
The first line is something I've said a few times about how Kunj grounds Twinkle. Twinkle is impulsive, she's a dreamer and she's incredibly stubborn. People with personalities like that tend to have a hard time being practical, so to speak. Kunj, on the other hand, complements Twinkle's personality- he's more mature, level-headed and calm. He is able to bring Twinkle's far fetched, head in the clouds ideas back to Earth. For example, the whole coal bit Mahi suggested. Kunj stopped Twinkle and explained to her why it was impractical. The next three lines remind me of this same aspect of their relationship. Twinkle does not always stay on the same page with Kunj. For example, the collaboration with Anita. However, she always ends up "coming back" to him and they always work better as a team. Twinkle is able to make the progress she does with all her life challenges when she has her husband's support. She may take steps on her own but she'll come back to him. The next lines just reminded me of the other components of their marriage. The part about time stopping reminded me of their first meeting. The second part of that line reminds me of how Kunj does all he can to ensure her happiness. The next line causes me to compare Twinkle's relationship with Yuvraj to her relationship with Kunj. With Yuvraj, while there were good times, there was A LOT of tears too. With Kunj, not so much. Kunj's goal in life seems to be to keep her happy. The next line about learning to live correlates to how Twinkle is learning to be a bit more level headed with her plans. The boxing plan, for instance, was well thought out. Not only that, her life was tumultuous with her mother disowning, Yuvi being a child, Maya, RT and in that mess Kunj has been able to make her smile. The very last line just reminds me of how amazed Twinkle is of Kunj sometimes, his actions and words. Twinkle is religious and her faith in her God is resolute. She is starting to realize that Kunj is going to be steadfast next to her hence her trust in him is becoming firm as well.
Second Verse:
Tujh Mein Kinaara Dikhe, Dil Ko Sahaara Dikhe
In you I see a coast, I see support for my heart
Aa Meri Dhadkan Thaam Le
Come to me and steady my heartbeat
Teri Taraf Hi Mude, Yeh Saans Tujhse Jude
I turn toward you, my breath attaches itself to you
Har Pal Yeh Tera Naam Le
Your name is on my breath every moment
Tum Mile Toh Ab Kya Hai Kami, Tum Mile Toh Duniya Mil Gayi
When I met you, I wanted nothing more, when I met you, I got the world
Tum Mile Toh Mil Gaya Aasara
When I met you, I got a place to rest
The first few lines are rather blatant. I spoke about in length on my Agar Tum Saath Ho post so I won't repeat it and bore you all but Kunj offers Twinkle support and solace. These lines vocalize that. The line about the name on breath brings to mind the whole cute banter with calling each other Mr. Sarna and Mrs. Sarna. It reminds me of all the times Twinkle called out for Kunj or spoke highly of him in front of Yuvi and others. I think the second to last line explains a point to which Twinkle is yet to reach. Th last line though applies to them because as aforementioned Twinkle runs around a lot with all the world's problems on her shoulder. But, now, she has Kunj who helps her, who supports her, who takes care of her, who lets her rest.
Third Verse:
Din Mere Tujh Se Chalein, Raatein Bhi Tujh Se Dhalein
My days run with you, my nights end with you
Hai Waqt Tere Haath Mein
My time is in your hands
Tu Hi Sheher Hai Mera, Tujh Mein Hi Ghar Hai Mera
You're my city, you're where my home is
Rehta Hai Tere Saath Mein
It (my heart) lives with you
Tum Mile Toh Mil Gaya Humsafar, Tum Mile Toh Khud Ki Hai Khabar
When I met you, I met my soulmate, when I met you, I found myself
Tum Mile Toh Rishta Sa Ban Gaya
When I met you, I had a relationship
The first line is resonant of that one episode of morning banter we had during the Maya talk and then the epic rain scene. Their lives are intermingled at this point; from little things to bringing each other coffee to handing each other belongings (wallet). The next set of lines, once again, is a point I think Twinkle and Kunj will get too. The two lines help one compare Twinkle and Yuvraj to Twinkle and Kunj. Their relationships are so distinct. With Kunj, Twinkle has truly found her soulmate, someone who fosters her growth as a person and supports her in her decisions. With Kunj, she has a real relationship.
Overall, this song represents the journey of finding someone who evokes such feelings. It works well as Twinkle and Kunj both have had to do that to find each other.
Many apologies for the length. I always tell myself to keep it short but it never happens ( ._.). Let me know what you think.
