When Vikrant and Neyonika spoke about his marriage their problem contrary to the popular belief was Manik's over excitement to get married. Manik was fascinated by the idea of marriage so much so that he was highly disappointed on his 18^th birthday when he learned boys in India can't marry before 21 years leaving his parents and friends in shock that their rockstar son and friend has no girlfriend. Manik never believed in the idea of having girl friends and dating for him love was very chaste and pure which was reserved only for his wife. Manik believed in the institution of marriage as he grew up in a household where love took the center stage, be his parents or his grandparents who lived in Punjab.

Although his parents had love marriage but Manik wanted to have an arrange marriage; the idea of sharing life with a stranger; discovering something new about her; falling in love with her every time fascinated him ever since he heard about his dadu and DJ's marriage. He was so adamant on arrange marriage that finally Vikrant and Neyonika had to give in and start searching a girl for rock star and industrialist the Manik Malhotra. Fortunately or unfortunately Manik didn't like even a single girl he met or saw picture. His parents were tired of asking him what kind of girl he wanted to marry but he would answer "I don't know what kind all I know is when I will see her; my heart will say she is the one."
