Usually I abhor such showdowns find them crass and uncouth . This one I watched a couple of times as Kanak was on fire . At one point I wanted to get into the tv screen and slap her . She was brilliant .
you dont say.. many palms were itching in my household too
Will be back shortly .. Using my phone to stop by and say hello.
welll to you as well... and it looks like you beat me to it..me was playing hookie!😆

Great Title Hammie...And a good mother will cross any river of fire to protect her child..

tooo bad kanak cannot be seen as one..
It is indeed sad that a mother like Kanak uses her power to manipulate and control her son for no other reason than that she professes to love her son and knows who, what , and how her son should live, by her standard of what is good for him.
he cannot marry a widow.. cannot break the law of their household
Here Kanak's rage at Dhaani is really misplaced because it is her short-sightedness
and prejudices against widows that she has that she wants her son to also adopt.
And Viplav going against her wishes enrages her even more.
well said.. yes viplav is clearly not with her on this one
And the spin she puts on Dhaani's discovery of her misdeeds was pure genius because the one thing that pushes Viplav's buttons is the mention of his rival Tripurari. And suggesting that she is having an affair with him makes Viplav mad enough to raise his hand to slap Dhaani.
its the honour card. listening to swearing upon ones's mother /sister.. is one upon heads roll.. the slap sign is kanak whipping her son into frenzy
Kanak in her ego and pure selfishness does not bother to understand or even know her son enough to realize that her son by showing he can and did fall in love with a young widow does not hold to her way of thinking.
I often wonder if dhani was rich, would kanak approve?
Kanak came to the Ashram for that one reason and she succeeded in doing exactly
what she planned to do is ...make Viplav angry and Dhaani helpless to defend herself.
And thus create a rift of M U between them of this huge insult to his mother's reputation by the woman he loves dearly.
she did warn dhani.. she would go to any lengths to divide viplav frpm dhani
This is where Kanak as a mother failed miserably by throwing her son into this river of fire of distrust and doubts of the woman he loves to use her warped reasoning that a mother can and will use her love to gain leverage to control her child.
her hate for dhani supersedes her love for her son
Kanak by doing so does not realize that she will irrevocably damage her son emotionally and will live to regret her actions when the son she professes to love so much ends up hating her.
she will consider it as amothers reprimand
It will be Karmic justice when Kanak will have to cross the river of fire to gain
the respect of her son, that she lost by her selfish and destructive actions.
ohhh that I HAVE to see dolly
Hammie, I am eternally grateful for your dynamic outlining in detail by your superb talent of terrific writing.

Hey Hammie,
prem ratan ahyo re.. phew .. put my skates on to get here..

"Today's episode s focal point is upon a mother who brandishes emotional blackmail before her child to make her child see that she is the mother who knows what is best for her off spring..as she sees the wider picture of what's best for her child's future.. the child has no reason to doubt her intentions , as his mother known's best. The mad rage of a mother continues for the protection of her child as she grapples the predator ready to kill it , for fear of the predator getting to her child. Regrettably Kanak brings out the message of the show , that all widows are stigmatized and cursed with bad luck . it's in their stars that their existence is like black death and inauspicious for a household, if a widow steps into it! Widow Heralds doom for the household

Perfectly said . It was as if the gates to Kanak's hatred were let go and vicious venom spilled over. Unmindful of who came in it path . There was nothing stopping her.
but then the moody. broody, strong ,silent one walked in and she went..ohhherhhh..
And yes this is the crux of the show. I have often questioned why will a affluent guy like Viplav love a down trodden widow girl ..and the simple answer is that he loves her for who she is and nothing else mattered to him . Not once did he think he needed to check with his family on the decision he was making coz to him its trivial and he assumes the same for his granddad and mother . Therein lies his mistake of not knowing their hatred for the stigma that this girl holds .
i think.. he felt deep inside dont want a rude shrew like my mum for a wife.. ratna the way kanak spoke to his dad you recall dont you?
The mother who since the very start has insulted Dhani , created impediments and was even direct with Viplav about it has not ben able to convey the length and breath of what she can do to separate them . A side of her that Viplav is unaware of . Even if it means crossing the river of fire...at any cost . Such is her love for her son !!!
hoping viplav actually reads between the lines that his mother hates dhani..as in how much

While watching the show today I was reminded of a personal story I had witnessed in yester years. In college there was a classmate who was seeing a boy in the university , Both good looking , good at studies and of the same social standing. They were a darling of the crowds and were constantly seen together. If one had to find a fault between them it was that she was a year older to the boy though never looked it. They were together for over 5 years and started new careers as well . The time soon came for a wedding the guys father objected though everyone else was in agreement. After a lot of drama a wedding day was finalized saying that bauji will agree so don't worry. The night before the wedding his dad gave an ultimatum to the son that if he marries the girl he will hang himself. His objection was mainly because it was not the girl of his choice and finding.
ohhh gawwddd.. that is awful... unbeievable..
The wedding got cancelled as the boy could not take this upon himself. NeXT I got to know that the guy came over to apologize to the girl and her family with his mother . The girl was so strong that she asked him to leave and never come back. She went on to an arranged marriage after a year and the boy i heard had a hard time dealing with the entire thing went into depression.
ohhh gawwddd... his life went to pieces.. courtesy of his father..
The reason I bring this up is that there are so many stories out there in Real life where parents determine what is best for their child and emotionally manipulate their children to abide by them . It is so ego driven and rooted in biases and traditions that are contrary to their children's happiness.
yes.. and bias is more entrenched then ego.. that's the one that puts me off a person.. pea brained!
Kanak / Kajal was absolutely brilliant at being horrible. Her mean twisted face , raised eyebrows to body language everything spoke about a women so wile and abhorrent . Dhani and Viplav were no match to her cunning ness.
yes.. full armed and charged in body language and words ,thoughts..

"For Dhani.. an incurable optimist , a believer in hoping for goodness from the most vilest of creatures! She is a mother who is her child's worst enemy! The blinkers have been raised.. how wrong she was to assume the similarity of widow hood would make Kanak affiliate with her.. here Dhani was clearly duped by the comparatively wily , deceptive , black widow pupil of the scheming grandmaster Dashrant tirpathi!.. Dhani is one innocent fly who is slowly going to be caught in the intricate ,sticky , silky gossamer web of the black widow! Dhani meant well, she set out to change Kanak's life.. but lay dormant to the fact that the only change Kanak wants from Dhani is to leave from her son's life..Kanak's actions ,she felt were justified by hook or by crook !Dhani will have to get out of Viplav's life "

Brilliant 👏 . Dhani in her simplicity hopes to change Kanak with her goodness , even assures her that she will step back from Viplav but she will not let Viplav think ill of her. She calls Kanaks obsession to separate them as - Choti malkin this is madness . she reminds her that you are doing this all to your son . You are his Mother . While parting too she tells her that with all this you are insulting yourself by linking yourself to Trip and telling your son about it . I am with this girl all the way .
so am I prem.. both mother and son put up such a dramatic performance before her then too the girl soldered on.. as for kanak.. dhani unhinges her with her armour of truth

An episode high on drama . I though Kajal , Mishal & Eisha were very good in respective order. Is this the last of Kanak's atrocities ? Not at all I would say .
ohhh paleezeee let it be let it be..
More again my friend . thanks for a VERY GOOD post .
listen.. pardon me for late reply.. was out and about during the day.. and haven't even watched todays episode yet.. wanted to reply to you all first... much love ratna, tra;... hammie
