The Voice of Neerja Bhanot: This is possibly the best thing you will hear today!

DNA WEB TEAM | Tue, 16 Feb 2016-08:43pm , dna webdesk

The team of Neerja unveiled a 1 minute audio clip which has Bhanot doing the flight announcement.

30 years back, an ordinary Indian girl from the bylanes of Mumbai challenged her fear and translated it to courage to save the lives of 359 passengers on an ill-fated flight, only to get shot in the end. At a time when the flight attendant could have been the first person to go out of the plane and save herself, Neerja Bhanot did the unthinkable. She stayed back, battled the terrorists and saved her passengers first.

She couldn't survive the incident and was shot dead while trying to protect three children on the hijacked flight. Three decades later, her story is getting translated on screen and Sonam Kapoor's taken the reins to play the braveheart Neerja Bhanot in her upcoming biopic Neerja. There have been several promos- trailer, dialogues and even songs- released. But this announcement was special.

The team unveiled a 1 minute audio clip on their social networking handles. What's the clip about? The audio clip, titled The Voice of Neerja Bhanot has a recorded version of Neerja's in-flight announcement. In the clip, she clearly introduces herself to everyone and welcomes them on board the flight to Karachi.

The team had also released an emotional video where Neerja's mom Rama Bhanot spoke about her courageous daughter and also discussed how she could see Neerja in Sonam. While that left everyone teary-eyed, this evocative video is surely going to shatter your hearts. After all, India lost a hero. One of the youngest ones to have received the Ashok Chakra and that loss can never be replaced.

Such honesty in her voice. Little did she know that it wasn't an ordinary flight or work day. She rose against the challenge and became a legend. 😭

hearing her voice reminded me of this air hostess who was on one the 9/11 hijacked planes.she used her presence of mind and called emergency number from plane and gave the seat numbers of the terrorists who hijacked the plane.I watched all documentaries on 9/11 and they air it on TV every year on 9/11..it's heartbreaking and nerve wracking everytime

Thank you! Incredible courage and presence of mind 👏

I think Neerja's story is unique... One of a kind... Never heard of another incident like this where a single flight attendant saved lives of so many against terrorists

What an inspiration
( doesn't help my fear of flying though)
