The reason why Pari rejected Piku was because at that time she had made a commitment to a YRF project. People criticize her for doing strictly YRF films but you have to understand WHY she chooses to do YRF films only. They launched her career, she feels indebted to them. Obviously if they come to her with a project, she will take it because she thinks she has to remain loyal to them for giving her a break.

It harmed her career and that's because YRF did not value her enough to give her the best projects.

So if you're criticizing Pari for sticking to YRF then you should criticize Alia as well. Because she is doing the same exact thing. The only difference is that KJO is constantly promoting her, putting her in all his films and if not in his films, telling other directors to put her in their films (imtiaz ali ahem)

Pari isn't a star kid, is not considered conventionally attractive, was considered fat earlier, and also has no mentor like KJO. I don't know how people can expect so much from her (talent is not enough in bollywood sadly)

Her career isn't over. If Kangana can be considered a big star today after what her career has been in the past, then Pari can do it too.

True but at least Kjo also helps Alia get movies which will enable her to work on her craft (Highway, GS's net, UP...) and construct her career (2 States, HSKD...) where Parineeti only working with YRF gets to work on movies which have the same formula.

She should have taken the Anushka route and try working with different production houses and directors instead on only relying on A. Chopra. I don't know if being part of YRTalents has something to do with all of this. Even SSR left recently...

Comparing her with Kangna is too much IMO because Kangna used to be a B-list actress and worked without rest since her debut. She did different kind of roles early on too.

I don't necessarily think doing this movie is a mistake because she won't be a flowerpot and might play a likeable character but it might have been surprising to some as it looks she's downgrading herself.

They may have launched her career but being too faithful would be for nothing if her career were to take a nosedive.

At least Parineeti can't be deemed as ingratful...

Meri Pyaar Bindu means she will be the lead and Ayushmann will be the flowerpot. If the script is exceptional movie should do well. I'll wait for the trailer before deciding. I really can't judge Ayushman as a flop and assume movie is going to be a flop too 😕

She had already given her word to a different film, with Saif. And at the time it seemed like a good decision, since AB Sr's films haven't been doing well prior to Piku. But some issues cropped up between Saif and the prod house (I think), and the film ended up being shelved

End result, Pari suddenly had a whole block of dates available, but no one was willing to sign her for that time span. Hence she went on a "break". But then that break ended up being stretched for years.

Parineeti will rock it. She is a good actor, and regardless of the actor and the tite (how can anyone judge a movie so quickly? !! ) I am happy that we will get to see her act.

Alia & Shraddha & PC Sr are much better singers than Jr here. But that's because maybe I've never taken to PC Jr, nowhere as much as I've taken to her elder sister. Jr is so God-damn annoying!!!

Shes a good actress though & Ayushmaan's a good actor for sure. He was particularly good in DLKH but Bhumi took that movie away from him.

Am I the only one who finds it very funny that asshole directors like Adi C who demand beauty & glamour from their heroines & head super-glamorous PHs, are finding all these (relatively) plain & over-weight actresses. 😆 😆

Only on this Forum is HR not a superstar, ARK is a good actor, Parineeti is the Indian Meryl Streep & Fawad Khan is smaller & more unknown than Kartik Aryan 😆 😆

Ayushmaan is actually a really good actor & was particularly good in DLKH. If I watch this movie, I'll watch it for him because while PC Jr is a good actress , she's over-rated on IF. 😆 he's a better actor than her anyway, and is a very good singer. After DLKH & Bhumi, she should be glad he wants to act with her rather than the other way around. 😆

So agree with you T as usual.

Ayushmann and SSR are very underrated in this forum which thinks only Ranbir and Ranveer are good actors. Ayushmann did have a swollen head which promptly shrank in size thanks to his flops. He seems to be in a good head space now and hopefully this movie will be a big hit.
