All the brides and grooms enter the wedding mandap. Ram and Sita garland each other amid floral showers. Rest of the pairs follow. Mahadev, Parvati, Brahma and the other deities smile. Ram, Sita and the other three pairs sit in the mandap. The priest chants shlokas. Shatanand says that it's a privilege for Mithila and its king to have Ram. Janak is invited for the varpratha ceremony. Ram places his feet in the vessel and Janak performs varpratha, the ceremony of washing the son-in-law's feet. Ram and Janak greet each other after the completion of the ceremony. Sunaina also washes Ram's feet with milk and they greet each other. Janak then performs the ceremony with Lakshman while Kushadhwaj does it with Bharat and Shatrughan.

Sage Vashistha announces that the auspicious time to perform Kanyadaan has come and invites Janak and Sunaina. Sunaina becomes emotional at the thought of Sita's departure and stops. Janak tells her that Kanyadaan is regarded high by the deities. Parents give their daughters to others for their prosperity. Janak motivates her to perform a mother's duty and she enters the mandap. They perform the Kanyadaan ceremony and the deities smile. With an emotional heart, Janak gives Sita's hand to Ram and announces it.

Shatananda adds five things namely flowers, turmeric, akshat, druma etc. and ties the knot. Vashistha utters that this knot is symbolic and five things are added before tying it. The husband and wife will have equal rights on everything. Happiness or sorrow, nothing may come individually from now on, this knot is the symbol of togetherness and prays for it. Akshat represents financial goodness in life. Under the most adverse circumstances, a shower of love will bring back happiness in the couple's life. Sage Vashistha explains the significance of the knot. Ram and Sita smile.
