This makes a lot of sense as it has been something I have been bitching about. I like SRK the persona a lot. His intelligence, ambition, charm, ideas, the person comes across as and even his arrogance. I love seeing him on screen. But ultimately the person I fell for is the actor,
The one who made me love characters like Ajay and Rahul (of Darr). The one who made Raj an ordinary fool of a boy lovable by the sheer force of his personality in DDLJ, the one who emotes with just his eyes to show love like no one else, the one who has such a connection with Kajol in the gazebo scene that no words and hardly any touch or music was required to show love and romance, the actor who defines romance for me, that is the actor I love. Yet he could show me a totally different side and move me to tears with ChakDe and Swades. That actor ceased to exist for me after Chake De and I saw him again only in MNIK. He has disappeared again and has made a string of terrible films IMO. I felt it the most oddly in JTHJ when he kissed Kat and it was so cold. I mean, this man could show romance with his eyes and he actually kissed someone on screen and it was like Arctic. I could not believe it. It was not Kat's fault only, it takes two to make a scene like this work. I saw glimpses of the actor finally in Dilwale romance scenes especially in Janam Janam. I think it is more Kajol's being there that brought the connection back. I will always go to see SRK on the big screen, but I miss the actor and want him back. Hope Raees and Fan brings him back as they say.
