Fresh Pair! Akshay Kumar-Alia Bhatt in Badlapur Director Sriram Raghavan's Film?
DAILYBHASKAR.COMFEB 08, 2016, 10:32AM ISTAfter making a thriller, Badlapur last year, Sriram Raghavan is working on his next, an adaptation of Vikas Swarup's The Accidental Apprentice. But soon after that, he will begin working on a thriller. As per news sources, the director has collaborated with scriptwriter-turned-author Sheeja Jose, and is considering a thriller based on Sheeja's second bestseller, Gone with The Bullet.
Reportedly, the novel, which is drawn from many true incidents and people and has been fictionalized, was originally a film script, which Sujoy Ghosh had planned to bring on screen. Shedding more light on the same, Sheeja has been quoted by a publication saying, "It took me two years to complete and when things didn't fall in place with Sujoy, I turned the script into a book. The story follows an 18-year-old girl who falls in love with a 40-something assassin.
While the project is in nascent stage, it will be really interesting to see a 40 year old romancing an 18 year old on screen. Thus, the casting of the movie is something to look forward to. When prodded the writer to shed her thought in terms of the cast, she told a tabloid she thinks that Sriram will agree to the fact that Akshay Kumar would be perfect as the brooding, dark assassin and Alia Bhatt as the new-age girl in love.
Interestingly, Akshay and Alia has a Bollywood history. Not many would remember that Alia as a child artist acted in Akshay Kumar starrer, Tanuja Chandra's Sangharsh in 1999 when she was just 6 years old.
