I mean a house with a two week old baby... had none o that
II slept whenever she could, she showered, went down to eat, and came back up and napped... in all getting 3 hours of sleep in 24 hours
The house was in a posh neighborhood and sound proof, she didnt even hear her daughter cry.
But that lil creature had everyone on their toes...
R&B bend down kissed her cheek "Hey" he coaxed waking II when it was meal time for Nivi
"U got what u wanted... and u got a baby, leave me alone" she hissed softly
He chuckled and his daughter cooed "thats true... but she is hungry" he said matter of factly
"Vaa dee" she whispered sitting up dazed
She lay in a tee shirt and sweats...
bath time... was a circus
She had Amma on speaker phone Ranjan and R&B on either side
Mahavir holding atowel, so he could quickly grab and wrap her
the master bath was transformed to fit the tiny baby tub...
They all stood inside, as R&B poured the warm water over her belly, her eyes were open wide... she even twitched a smile
She LOVED having water be poured over her thick hair
When it was over she groaned
Unlike D II the hot water supply was unlimited, so she could bathe for 20 minutes even
R&B started talking to her as if she was 5? or 10?
"Ok we dont want to do that"
"If u quit wiggling I am going to hold u"
"I hear you angel... I know u are hungry"
"I saw a bunch of new bird in the front yard want to go hang with me?" he whispered
When R&B worked Ranjan got to hold her
He was on "maternity" according to Mrs Sagar
She called II to wish her and shared that lil secret
"Its like he has lost interest in Excelsior"
He wants to be home with her... the few times he has spoken to Harish ji or Imad... he has held the baby in his arms"
II chuckled
R&B handed her for her 5th feed of the morning... II gently caressed her arm as she fed
She wore a tiny sleeveless onesie in neon pink, with frills all around her butt
"Ur dress is shooo cute" she cooed to her Nivi paused and squirmed
Went back to what she was doing
"U promised u will wake me when she is up u never did" she complained to her husband
He chuckled sliding into bed
"Shes been asleep mostly
"REALLY?" II shrieked
"Paavi poi vera solreya?" (U lie to me?) II chalenged him
"Mrs Sagar called me and told me how Dad is obsessed with her and how she is awake more" II informed dude
"Umm... I guess" he smiled sheepishly
"U two just want to hog her" II complained
When Nivi was done, he picked her up and watched her, she was wide awake, she half smiled like HIM
"Rakshasi!! Acquire ONE of my traits no?" II accused, poking the now rotund belly
He lay her on his shoulder gently forgetting the burp towel, and she spit up... on his BR tee
He wiped her tiny pink lips
"Kudu da... I wnat to hold her when she is awake" II sat up
"Later II" he whispered, just staring at his now 10 lb daughter
"U can hold her when we take her in for her wellness check"
"There are many volunteers to do THAT" R&B rreminded cynically
"DAD wants to go?" she laughed
Ranjan wandered in
"Gudiya soyi hai?" he asked...
R&B extended his arms... Ranjan accepted her
"Kha baithi?" he smiled watching the lil specks of food
R&B leaned over and wiped her cheek of
"Chalen... neeche... Dadu aapke liye kayi cheeze dikhayen"
She moaned and cooed
"Dad... have u had breakfast?" II asked
"Betaji 12 bah gaye, hum to lunch ka intejaar kar rahe hain, Mahavir Uncle paneer bana rahe hain" Ranjan told his grand daughter
"So jaayin puttar" Ranjan ordered
II nodded
Mahavir came up... "Hum pakdein kya?" he asked
"Tujhe kaise hawa lag jaati hai?" Ranjan accused moving Nivi out of reach
The men fought all the way down
R&B put his phone away and leaned over as she lay down
"Shes beautiful" he whispered
II nodded
"And so tiny and helpless" II lamented
"She will be fine... she has a warrior for a Mom" he whispered
She smiled self consciously "ive never done any grand things" she smiled
"U have" "U just dont know it" he assured her, looking deeply into her eyes
They cuddled looking out the windows
"I cant believe she is so gentle and well behaved"
"That must be my gene" he said smugly
"Ya... and humans have colonized Mars" II whispered
He laughed
They heard sounds in the hallway
"OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!" Manya squealed, she was holding Nivi
R&B got off the bed
II got off too
"She is tooo cute" Manya sighed
"Welcome Dr Bhalla" R&B chuckled
Manya looked at II self consciously
"OMGGG U are a Ph D now?" "Why didnt anyone tell me?" II was hurt
"Maine kaha tha... I mean the big news is the baby"
"Urs is as big" II smiled kindly
"Getting a Ph D at 32 is not signs of genius" she said softly
"Being a Mom at 28 isnt either" II said
"Something that I never will be" Manya said softly
"Bahut pyaari hai" Manya said in shock
Ranjan came up again
"Dekh lee gudiya... mainnu de jara"
"OMG... what is wrong with him? I had to fight him.." Manya looked at R&B in shock
R&B chuckled
"they are inseparable" R&B said casually... and froze... and stopped, Ranjan, Manya and R&B exchanged a look... and looked away
Manya and R&B were reminded of that line the kids used frequently for Savvy and Ranjan being "Inseparable"
