Priyanka Chopra faces legal trouble!
A Punjabi producer has filed a suit against Priyanka Chopra alleging for violation of copy rights.
Actress Priyanka Chopra is on the seventh sky strengthening her presence in Bollywood as well as Hollywood. The actress was recently reported to present the award at Oscars has stuck in a legal mishap. A Punjabi film producer named Talwinder Singh Rathore has filed a suit against the actress and her production company Purple Pebble Pictures.
The producer alleged that Priyanka is planning to make a similar Punjabi film with the same title of which he has already obtained the copy rights.
In the suit filed by Mr. Talwinder, he informed that he had started producing a film in the 2013-14 and named it as 'IK ONKAR. The movie is almost shot and he has invested nearly 5 crore for the film's production. Also, following the rules he has got it registered with Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPFA).
According to a report in a leading daily, Rathore was stunned to discover that Priyanka is working on the same idea and title in a separate film and thus, he took the matter before IMMPPFA's dispute committee which is impending. However, he wanted to shun Priyanka and her production company for using the same title and approached the civil court at Dindoshi.
The case hearing is on 4th February in the afternoon
