A NIGHT MARE

Sita : She woke up suddenly and is profusely sweating. She started
sobbing making a slightest sound so as her husband sleeping beside
her does not wake up
She slowly get down their soft silky bed and walks out through
the long corridors.
everyone is asleep
Ram : Ram shifts in his sleep and as a habit puts his hand over Sita.
Ram abruptly wake up as he could not find her. He starts searching
for her in their room. Sita is nowhere. Ram always wants to keep
his Sita in a distance not more than his reach of eyesight. Sita...
Sita... Where are you and searching her he walks out of the
room
knowing that she may be in their garden on her favourite
swing.
Sita : Silently crying her heart out sat on the swing in the garden
Ram : He comes and silently sit beside her. Placing his hand over her
shoulder and bringing her more closer to him he make her rest on
his shoulder
Sita : Ram why do you have to trouble yourself. I didn't want to disturb
you thats why i am here.
Ram : Is it the same bad dream again???
Sita : Why Ram, Why do i get that bad dream always. I can't even
narrate it to others, what if it comes true?? Now tears flow endlessly
from her eyes even wetting Ram's shoulders.
Ram : Sita you know me very well i can't bear tears in your eyes. He
gently wipes her tears. If something is troubling you then it troubles
me too please share that dream with me you will feel relieved
Sita : It is...It is...
Its that i cannot live without you Ram. Not even for a minute i can
imagine your absence in my life.
Ram : Sita what are you talking about?? Slightly lifting her head cupping
it with both his hands. Sita you know very well Ram is no one if
Sita is not in his life. Sita you cannot stay away from me but I
can't stand even one minute if you go missing out of my sight.
Sita : I am sorry for troubling you next time i will wake you up
Ram : Sita don't divert the topic tell me what is that bad dream.
Sita : Ram i don't even know where i was in that dream. I have never
been there. I am all alone. You were not there. I was sitting under a
sitting under a big tree and... Sita is really sacred now, she
burries her head in Ram's chest and starts crying badly.
Ram: Sita... Sita ...look at me come on say it out. Sita you trust me
right please tell me
Sita : Ram i was surrounded by demons really scary. Ram promise me
you will never leave me alone
Ram : Ram smiles at her innocent wife. Sita now stop crying please
dear. Sita Ram makes her sit straight wipes her tears with his hands
make her sit closer to him in his embrace wrapping her in his strong
arms...
Sita you know that i am strong enough to fight the demons. Life is
very uncertain we cannot waste it on unnecessary thoughts.
Sita it is true that some dreams come true but not all. And more
over we are in Ayodhya Raj Bhavan and are safe.
Sita : Ram I am worried as i don't think that dream is baseless from few
days i am repeatedly having the same dream. What if it...
before she says anything Ram closes her mouth with his hand.
Sita : Ram I am extremely sorry for spoiling your mood.
Ram : No need to be sorry, Sita remember one thing if anytime I am not
around you and you miss me...Ram makes he look at the moon
in the sky... Seeing the moon close your eyes think about me when
you open your eyes you can see me through the moon. You can
talk to me even if we are far away from each other i will be listening
to you.
Sita : Sita smiles at Ram and sleeps on his lap while Ram caress her hair.
After a while when Sita is asleep Ram carries her in his arms to their
room make her sleep on the bed an covers her with a blanket in a loving way. This is a scene just few days after their marriage in Ayodhya. They never knew whats in store for them.
After few days they left Ayodhya along with Lakshmana to vanvaas and then Sita's Apaharan takes place. Sita is in Ravan's Ashoka vaan closing her teary eyes slowly opening them trying to see her Ram in the moon. Remebering their conversation in Ayodhya missing her favourite swing in their garden, missing her Ram's sweet consoling voice, his touch trying to act brave in between the wild demons of Lanka
Saying Ram she closes her eyes and dozes into sleep.
