the three actually have different writing systems. Chinese utilizes thousands of characters, which like you said, is like drawing. Korean actually has an alphabet called Hangul, so writing korean is pretty much like joining alphabets. I believe they utilized chinese character up til the 19th century and have a chinese number system too, along with a korean one. Japanese has 3 different writing "alphabets." There's kanji, which are chinese characters. Then there's hiragana, which is based on syllables/sounds. pretty much each sound is represented by a character. Katakana is similar to hiragana but is mainly used for transcription of foreign language words into japanese.chinese is probably the hardest to learn because of tones.
