I watched Pyar Ko Ho Jaane Do ONLY for Mona Singh.

Iqbal Khan never appealed to me - his performance on this show was also mediocre, at best, although he did steal the show in the last seven episodes.

But my love affair with Jassi continued, and hence I tuned in every day to bask in her talent for 20 glorious minutes. A sensitive, sensuous, sincere performer, she is miles ahead of the over-dramatic painted faces on Indian television.

I thought Preet - her character - was admirable too. An inspiring role model, she was strong, yet sensitive; vulnerable, yet vivacious; determined, yet dutiful. She tended to the family with love, with hope, with generosity.

...and then the last two episodes happened, and her character has been tainted forever.

Are you telling me that this daughter-in-law, this mother, this sister-in-law, this FRIEND ditched her loved ones for a man who didn't give two hoots about betraying THE family that embraced him with open arms?

I don't care about Iqbal and Mona's sensuous chemistry. I am too old - 34, to be precise - to go gaga over a few intimate scenes.

But what happened to Preet's IDEALS, her VALUES, her PROMISES to HER family? If Kavya was a real person, GOD FORBID, she is going to be traumatized for life because of her self-centered parents with screwed-up priorities! LOL

How could Preet leave her family in limbo and abandon Kavya? HOW COULD SHE? What was her excuse?

UGHHH...

Even as this show came to a distasteful and STUPID end, I am going to miss the FAMILY the most - everyone should have a mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law like the ones portrayed on this show.

But NO ONE should EVER have a mom like Preet or a dad like Ishaan/Riswaan.

I don't care about Preet's 4 year long sacrifices. She dumped Kavya when that sweet child most needed her.

Your character bubbles forth during times of distress. And Preet proved her shallowness by doing what's EASY and NOT what's RIGHT!

I will NEVER forgive Sony for ruining an otherwise wonderful character.

Hello 😃
If you would have followed our forum than no one here EVER went ga ga over the intimate scenes .. we all are by default quite mature for it 😆

I just wanted to add my POV to urs. I agree the ending may have technical flaws but what was Preet's excuse of killing herself? Excuse .. Excuse that her entire exsistence revoloved around the love of her life who was ready to kill himself for her? Excuse that she was too broken and in lovr with him to let him sacrifice himself alone? Her values her duty towards her country and family wete all there until she knew about HOW ynfortunate her beloved has been .. how painful and excrutiating HIS life had been .. that is where she decides NOT to abondon him.

And Rizwaan never cared two hoots abt the family? The man who was ready to kill himself, who stepped in as the suicide bomber so that his family's reputation isnt tainted. So that the blame of the parade passes leaking from Hooda industries isnt revealed.

And no one should have a dad like Rizwaan? A person who saved her from having a life of an orphan . A person who brought her to her real blood relatives. And no one should have a mother like Preet? A mother who even in her unconcious mind leaves a protective lineage for thier child? They WERE screwed up .. nice word. They were unfortunate screwed up people who loved too much and had too many scattered threads to pick up. As the writer said .. it doesnt has to be perfect .. it has to be true.

And lastly .. the Hoodas were sweet no doubt. But everybody should have a family who should insult you by believing a week old stranger over u?

Anyways i respect ur opinion, just wanted to add mine
Welcome to the forum .. i wish would have heard more abt the things u liked 😊 . Mona is a wonder no doubt.

Cheers.

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the show and the actors. Wish you followed the forum more regularly before deciphering this forum presumably also went ga ga over few intimate scenes of lead pair. Iqbal &Mona's sensuous chemistry was never the cynosure of the show or the forum. The writers never explored that explicitly, it was more about the conflict of emotions precisely. So Will happily disagree with that part , otherwise sad to know Sony and makers and your fav actor who agreed to Portray Preet the way she did in the end -disappointed you.Mona Sigh was brilliant as Preet in the entire series and will be remembered for the depiction.

Cheers.

After knowing rizwan's truth, she was killed her love/suppressed her love for him and she was informing shergill about his whereabouts , it was only after knowing his horrible past she decided not to leave him

mediocre iqbal? as ishaan/rizwaan 😆 seriously???? as a muslim/an actor to take on a role like this and do justice to it the way he has..takes guts and i salute him for that..👏 It is not easy to play a character like Ishaan/Rizwaan and pay attention to all sensitivity of religion/countries/Cultures and to strike a balance.

I appreciate you are a Mona fan and watching for her. I was watching only for Iqbal but even then I congratulate her for her hard work and portrayal of Preet.

Talking of Maturity...take this coming from some one the same age as you..Maturity to be precise requires one to appreciate and acknowledge any form of handwork and dedication before passing judgement on anyone..Just because the person does not "Appeal to you"...and to be brutally honest the show was shut down early because of Sony Stupidity...they have had to fit 2 months worth of story in a week..so I shall applaud them all and say well done...Had the story run for 2 more months and run its course..it would be different.

I will say...Enjoy your fanism...whilst I enjoy mine...and one more thing #PyarKoHoJaaneDo ..

@all,
The physical body changes with age, this is a guarantee but the emotions of a person never changes, that remains the same throughout life and that too is a guarantee.
You will experience this for yourself as you grow older. I am much much older that all of you with much much more life and work experiences and exposures to life, that I can assure you.
This story told by Ekta and taken on by SONY TV is a bold step. Not many are willing to risk their place on an entertainment show whether it is a Production House, actors or actresses and especially a channel, a part of the Entertainment Industry which has to keep up with its' counterparts and risk so much to show a very controversial subject that in this modern era most humans still try to keep up with mainstream life.
This show tried to do just that and although like many other show that have been tried before whether they are Movies or TV show or TV serials which has not made much real impact if you really think about it hopefully many will see this show again and again and try to find the truth behind one's own relationship with self, family and their faith. Religion was made by people and IMHO religion is all about the inner soul, caring, understanding, tolerating, sharing, and above all the closest a person can be to another living thing no matter who or what they are.
We are all trying to get to the same place, want the same things in life and ultimately be accepted by a Deity or consciousness when our time is up in this world. Enjoy life one moment at a time truly that is all one can do. Most of us learn from mistakes even if it is too late and as I said before we are not born as babies to be "Bad" we are taught and learn from birth throughout our existence here on planet Earth. This was a very wonderful story and brilliant portrayal throughout even though it has some drama that had to be included because it was told as a story as part of a television series that will live on in my mind because it has brought to the forefront the most important issue/problem that is occurring all over the world and the most important issue/problem and concern on everyone's mind even if they want to admit to themselves or in a public forum.
@Topic maker, In this story Kavya had a true blood relationship to the Hooda family and IMO that is why she survived to tell the story. Rizwan and Preet was not related in any way to the Hooda family although they gave their all, love and care to the Hooda family. Alex
Posted incorrectly on thread titled "End could have been better."
My apologies for the edit, the net here even in the most industrialized developed part of the world, sucks.

Iqbal was fabulous in the last few episodes of the show because he slowed down and FELT his dialogues. But he usually RUSHES through his dialogues, which does not appeal to me...😕

I didn't pass judgment on anyone, but is it WRONG for me to NOT like an actor? I appreciate his courage and his commitment, but his acting didn't CONNECT with me. How or WHY is that wrong?

Agreed about Sony's stupidity...they did it with Kayamath - totally tainted Prachi's character - and they did it with Pyar ko Ho Jaane Do...

I am rewatching some old episodes to reconnect with the whole cast because this show GENUINELY felt different- more real - during the first month of its existence.

I am not new to this forum, but thank you!

I used to OBSESS over Milind and Prachi from Kayamath! LOL

As for the 'going ga ga' comment, everyone misunderstood me, but that was my fault - I wasn't clear.

I did NOT indict anyone on this forum; I was merely comparing my 34 year old self to my twenties when the CHEMISTRY between the lead actors was the ONLY reason I used to enjoy shows ;) LOL (Kumud and Garv, Milind and Prachi...and a few others)

I am sorry, but Preet's decision feels thoroughly misguided to me. Why isn't anyone thinking about that child - the little girl who ADORED her mum and dad? Didn't Preet spare a THOUGHT to that kid? Killing herself was a self-centered move, but we can agree to disagree. How beautiful would it have been if she had kept Ishaan's legacy alive through the family?

As for the Hooda family, why shouldn't they believe Shergill over Ishaan/Rizwaan? Preet revealed the truth, which was reconfirmed by the cop (whom a lot of people seem to hate for no reason - he was just doing his job!)

In all honesty, I don't blame Rizwaan. He tried to balance his love for his nation with his surprising connection with the Hoodas.

But I do blame Preet for what she did - Sony screwed up her character, just like they screwed up Prachi's in Kayamath.

I am rewatching old episodes to relive some beautiful memories...the last month, however, was distasteful!

LOL - I get the phone part.

None of these shows are realistic, so i am sure the makers could have found a way to guide Preet back home. ;)

A horrible past does not mitigate his present actions. Abetting a criminal is an equally heinous crime, so I don't quite agree with Preet's logic.

Eesh...guess I have no romantic bones - hehe
