RAMAYAN WAS ALL ABOUT SIYA'S STRENGTH, IT MIGHT BE CALLED RAMAYAN, BUT IT WAS THE JOURNEY OF HER EMERGING FROM BHUMI AND RETURNING TO BHUMI, HER HEAD HIGH AT EVERY INSTANCE
The CV can easily show this, as the show is ficitional, they could have included many ways of showing a Strong Woman.
[SIMPLY QUESTIONING EVERYTHING IS NOT MAKING THAT HAPPEN]

So what is the Strength of a Woman?
Wishing that the CV's understand woman properly and portray Sita as such.

1. They don't hold back.

They Stand up, They make themselves heard and make a difference.

2. They don't lose their passion

If you are passionate about your goals and excited about your pursuits, others around you will believe in you also. Passion is like the energy that fuels an emotionally strong woman's drive.

3. They don't get wrapped up in anger or resentment

Being an emotionally strong woman can quite literally mean not letting your emotions get the best of you; instead, practice remaining level-headed.

I think sometimes you do have to suck it up and sort of try to push through when things aren't going your way...When you get angry, that's when it's really tough to...just step back and think through

Don't let your resentment cloud what it is you're really after. It's easy to share that bitter emotion, but remember that spreading anger is useless and harmful.

SIYA shows us this particular point in every instance of her life.

4. They don't back down from challenges

Emotionally strong women, however, are those who tackle challenges head-on.

5. They don't shy away from letting people know how valuable they are

Emotionally strong women first and foremost believe in themselves, have self-confidence.

Being sure of yourself gives you the strength to be supportive for others, and it also puts you in the right frame of mind to welcome constructive criticism so that you can continue to improve and grow.

6. They don't give in to fear

An emotionally strong woman is, to not be afraid AND to try something and FAIL."

As women, we are perfectionists. We like to make sure we will succeed before we try something, so we avoid the threat of failure and don't reach for new things. This kind of thinking needs to be reversed, however. We should go after the things that scare us.

Be bold and be fearless, so if you do fail, you're able to move on.

7. They aren't afraid to look to others for help

Being strong and independent doesn't mean you have to exclusively rely on yourself. Surrounding yourself with valuable people eases the burden of personal- and work-related challenges.

@Jaishree: Beautiful post. I completely agree. I wish to see these aspects projected well in the show w/o deviating from the epic prime story line.

Ramya, so far I have not seen much of a Strong Woman in Siya so far.
I was kind of put off when she questioned Ram regarding the food cooked.
I might be nit picking, but it seemed so not right..
All that they have been showing us is Sita questioning this and that.
Excuse me, but we women do much more than sit around ask questions all day.

I agree with your point about feminism not being about simply questioning everything.

I feel the show is well-intentioned in the way they attempt to put across some social and moral commentary such as the conversation where Sita talks to Ram about being together yet still independent or the point she makes in the Swayamwar about wanting to accept a man who didn't feel the need to put down a woman to assert his masculinity.

But they don't manage to be consistent in their presentation of Sita unfortunately...I'm not sure if it's more of a problem from the direction point of view or writing point of view...but there are hitches in execution...yes I also agree that Sita ends up coming across as impertinent more than a dignified, strong minded woman...it is very much possible to have dignified strength without jumping in with random questions regardless of occasion.

Like in today's scene, it felt strange that Sita was directly questioning Ram about his opinion on the food...that is not how you'd envision an interaction b/w them regardless of whether they are betrothed...I feel some epis back they did a better job of managing a convo with that scene early morning on the cliff...it had just the right balance of mature thought process as well as a sweet understanding b/w them.

The writers seem confused about how to present Sita in this show...they seem to succumb to loud gimmicks from time time when it's fully possible to show Ram-Sita interacting without the need for such stuff...their USP lies in their connection without the need for loud gestures or words...subtlety is the need of the hour.

I appreciate that they have tried new stuff in this interpretation of Ram-Sita but some core characteristics vis a vis deep dignity and respect should be consistently maintained...Sita's serenity is supposed to be her biggest virtue, is it not? Then I wonder why they strangely lose sight of that in scenes like her hyperventilating over the mere mention of Ram's name😕

Lovely post. I too would love to see these aspects. There's one more thing I would like to add even after a great loss of a dear one we bounce back forgetting our pain. Though it's not easy specially if it's your parents but still we get back to normal.

So very true, we women have no choice but to bounce back...
Whether from loss of a dear one or ill health, or accidents, we just go back to our routine. that is our greatest strength

@Jaishree: I agree to it. Yesterday seeing the episode, I said why sita is so tensed just for food preparation. Is it the only so concerned qualification for marriage? My mom told even i was like that why not sita in that treta yug. U cant believe how much i am fed up. Strong minded women is somewhat not acceptable for women themselves.
Coming to query part, we do ask questions though not often to know the answer but to test whether the person in front knows what he/she utters.

Beautiful post Jaishree.
I completely agree with you.

These are some of the aspects which the CV's must show.

And I wish they show that too as they did show Sita as calm and soft.

This is my own experience. I'm a Sri-Lankan and married to an Indian. When my Father passed away I was not with him. I went after about 15 days. I was unable to reach for his last rites. I was emotionally drained. And, when I came back home I had to make myself emotionally strong and bounce back.
