President Bush to play lead role in "Independence Day 2: Mission Accomplished".

HOLLYWOOD (AP Newsliar) -- George W. Bush has been cast in a lead role in "Independence Day 2: Mission Accomplished", the sequel to the 1996 blockbuster by 20th Century Fox.

Bush will play the role of President Thomas W. Whitmore (Jr.), who is elected two terms after his father, President Thomas J. Whitmore (Sr.), leaves office. The senior President Whitmore was played in the original movie by Bill Pullman.

The script picks up nine years after the events of the original movie, not long into the first term of the junior President Whitmore. Following their defeat in the first movie, the aliens begin systematically violating the terms of the ceasefire, ignoring UN resolutions and testing the patience of the interplanetary inspection regime by re-starting their fledgling antimatter weapons programs. Tensions escalate as the aliens repeatedly violate the "no-fly" zones established over their home world of Iraqizardon.

Then the United State's mining outpost on the moon is attacked by terrorists, and the alien leadership is implicated, leading to a U.S.-led invasion and occupation of the Iraqizardon homeworld. The young president must battle aliens while facing politics-as-usual at home, including accusations of a "war for helium-3" and a misrepresentation of pre-war intelligence on the threat of the Iraqizardon weapons programs.

Filming is to begin in August, with a release date timed for July 3 of 2008. In anticipation of Bush's role in the movie, Ebert & Roeper have given it two thumbs down, and the movie's pre-opening approval rating has dropped to 28%.

of course it'll rock mr bush. after all you're doing what you love in the film aren't you? blowing up stuff at your own whim & fancy, creating wars, killing innocent people & bullying other countries. that shouldn't be too hard to act out right mr bush?
