Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor are redefining Bollywood friendships. They are the off-screen Jai and Veeru. Such friendships only exist in the fantasy world of films, you might think. But Kapoor and Singh's bromance is one-of-a-kind and 100 per cent genuine. These buddies bear no malice towards each other nor do they have a sense of competition. They wish each other well and that's rare when they are both considered by filmmakers for similar roles and are working with the same actresses and filmmakers. We asked Ranveer to define what makes their dosti work and this is what he had to say...

"I met Arjun after months recently and we made this video which I am contemplating putting out there or not as it's very embarrassing. (He shows a Dubsmash between Arjun and him dancing to Mera Piya Ghar Aaya O Ramji and bursts out laughing). Decoding us is very simple. The reason why people love our jodi is because it's genuine and heartfelt otherwise it can't have garnered so much love. The fact that we are genuine friends and people recognise that. Their love for us is more off-screen than on-screen although there was Gunday and there is a certain strata of society that loves us for Gunday. There are certain small towns I visit or people from certain walks of life or strata of society that I meet who, when they meet me, the first thing they recognise me for is Gunday. It had that kind of mass appeal. But Arjun and I as a pair are appreciated for our off-screen chemistry because we come from an honest place. Even when I met him recently, we only had five minutes as I had to go somewhere, but we were meeting after so long that I ended up sitting and chatting with him for hours. He's somebody I am in touch with on a daily basis, we keep talking sh*t and messaging each other on chats some nonsense and we have so much in common that we never run out of things to talk about. Arjun is an extremely intelligent, funny and knowledgeable guy and he stimulates my imagination and he is somebody who can be so engaging in a conversation that I just love hanging out with him. He enters the room and I light up like a 1000-watt bulb!"
