Hey guys, this is Antara. I know its been like five years since Dil Mill Gayye was taken off air, but I have been following a few fanfictions and I thought I would write a small teeny thing myself. I hope you enjoy reading it.

"They say you are only a hallucination," I said, staring at her. She had her bun made in the usual perfect way she made it, her milky white skin devoid of make up, her soft, small lips curved into a soft, small smile that she gave this world so generously, and her eyes the same serene black dots that always seemed to swallow the world without actually disturbing it, "I probably am," she said.
"But I don't want you to go, when you were here they did not let me be with you, not that you are not they still won't. Why won't this world just leave me alone?" I said, defeated.
"Because this world is of no use if it does," she said dramatically. I chuckled, we had a lot of these philosophical discussions where both of us would talk about nothing and end our completely useless discussions with deep statements that neither of us ever got bored of. We were both depressed and depressing in the same kind of a way, which is what had attracted us to each other in the first place.
When Riddhima was alive, we had dated for four years. We were about to tie the knot when as usual our parents and all their relatives had a humongous problem with our relationship, we decided to wait it out so that things could calm down and our good for nothing family trees could start minding their own business, it might have even worked but Riddhima decided to die in a road accident. Of all the ways to die, how pathetic is it to die crossing a road in India when thats practically the first ever skill taught to us as kids. Either way, she died. I obviously suffered a lot after that, being a guy I am not supposed to cry and move on, but I cried like a Punjabi lady for days, I even wailed, I blamed people like people always do in difficult circumstances, then I shut everyone out and fashionably decided to move out of my parent's house, except I could only afford a one bedroom flat in Malviya Nagar with my not-nearly-enough-for-any-sort-of-fashionable-decision salary of a reporter. Then I lost my job because I had spent all my time crying and wailing which means I defaulted on the rent for three months which my fat, bihari landlord got thoroughly irritated with and decided to get me evicted. The strategy was to call the Police and have them abuse me violently, cursing me until I agreed to move out and threatening to beat me if I was found a week from then in the house, since I wasn't a girl it wasn't even difficult and the plan worked pretty well which resulted in me going back to my parents' house who were pretty disappointed that I couldn't even sustain myself for three months at the age of twenty four. It was all quite a depressing affair. The last straw, however, came when everyone realized that I had been getting hallucinations of my dead girlfriend who they never liked, so the prospect of her ghost was even less appealing and I was kicked into this asylum which according to my father cost him a bomb, and even as a mad man my only ambition in life, to him it seemed, was to suck his money out and disappoint him. Atleast I did not have to respond to any of his complaints as I was literally declared abnormal, ah that had been so satisfying.
"I love you, you know," I whispered to her and caressed her cheek. She had been my salvation, my brightest source of happiness like I was hers. In the endless disappointments and complexities of this world we had found happiness in each other.
"I know," she sighed, holding my other hand as she looked down and a tear escaped her eye.
"Do you want me to let you go?" I asked her.
"Do you want to stay in this den forever?" she asked me.
"Will you stay with me?"
"I will, but nobody else will be here to give us company. Eventually, you'll get bored of me, and that will be such a waste of four years of my twenty three year long life and many more of your lonely, long one."
"Ever the optimist."
She smiled.
"I won't get bored of you, and like they say you are a hallucination. The part of you I always loved will glorify itself and your fighter cock part will calm down, so it will all be cool" I said, trying to convince her.
"It will just be me and you," she said, like that was the end of the world.
"Maybe we will finally get our forever then," I said, looking into her eyes, smiling.
"Maybe."
We sat staring at each other for a while.
"Are you really a hallucination?" I asked.
"No," she said. "I love you and so I have defied death and life to come and trouble you."
"Why are you always troubling me?"
"Well, its the second most interesting thing to do" she said.
"Really, what's the first?"
"Kissing you," she replied.
I grinned, "Now I am sure you are a hallucination."
That's when we both heard a little commotion outside and realized the time had come. I clutched her hand tighter, "I love you Riddhima, you are the only thing I ever truly loved and I will always" I said fiercely, looking into her eyes.
Her beautiful eyes became moist, "I know Armaan, maybe this was our chance to say goodbye. The road accident didn't give me much of a choice" she smiled again towards the end, and then bent down to kiss me. I kissed her back.
And that's how we finally said goodbye, and our extra ordinary love story because it really, really was that in this ordinary world, begged its way out of the convention one last time as whoever God took some time off from managing the rest of the planet and smiled down at us.
