Face down and ditched lies Dashrant. Possibly the specifically auspicious to him precious stones studded chunky rings prove to be his life savers. Kanak the huntress , clearly wishes to see if the trapped animal is dead. No surprises , her recent partner Tripurari in crime pops up by her to enjoy the spoils of battle . Both look down into the ditch where lies dashrant face down. Like his father he too chuckles , he's a goner , didn't need to do anything , he did it to himself.. By slipping and crashing to his death ! and we didn't even soil our hands! Tripurari like a child who wants to check if an animal is truly dead ,ventures on, but Kanak pulls him back . She sums up Dashrant as she perceives him , one never knows , he might just be pulling a fast one so he can pick on both of us at a later stage! She mocks , the old geyser thought he was following me ,little did he realize that it was me that prompted him to follow her..now look what he's done to himself she mocks ,and giddy over her victory urges him , he goes but she wishes to stay a while to languish in her win .. She just loves to see the mighty Dashrant fallen! But Tripurari warns her , the place is the jungle , unfriendly, where unseen danger lurks ,hence best they leave... the idea seems great ,who cares if the old man lives .. He won't be for much longer as what the jungle will do, will work to bring happiness to her! So right from the beginning the episode is steeped with suspense and a sense of adventure.. Is Dashrant dead or alive? He is clearly left, abandoned by his family! will Dashrant suffer the same fate as older abandoned?
At the Ashram it never crosses Viplav's mind he may have out stayed his welcome! Of course he thinks it's his right to be at the Ashram , chatting up his love Dhani! for he knows full well that all the ladies at the Ashram , across the age range , consider him as their darling lawyer gent! And if that's not sufficient ,he can doss about at the Ashram as he has the official status of being the son in law of the house ,and where ever appropriate he wields that power like .. here! he can't believe it that Dhani will be carrying a cross country across the jungle to get to the old mandir! all to begin her fast! and that too at the crack of dawn! He pulls faces but she just looks down at him.. yes I will , and he goes, ooorh ,she imitates him, and you 'd better not go Dhani, what's the use of doing all this ? and with a pouted mouth he looks up at her innocently and repeats just that, Dhani, what's the use of doing all this? he thinks she'll laugh ,but instead he gets reprimanded by her, you won't change will you? besides you'd better leave now, it's late ,everyone will think what's he doing here all this time.. and cheekily he pulls her down a little closer by her arm and looks up expectantly into her face..ohhh gawwd! thinks Dhani as he just stares into her face with a cheeky , smirk on his lips.. challengingly he looks dreamily into her eyes and replies in a guttural voice , nope.. I am not going anywhere.. Dhani too stares backs at him eye to eye!, but he continues straight into her face , and tells her defiantly , aand, no one can kick me out of this place.. because, I am the son in law of this Ashram got that? dadi has seen me already .. and he grabs her hand and she , yells , what are you doing? have you no shame! at all! he gulps and looks up at her like a told off little boy ,with his parted lips , Dhani het up with his defiant trouble making ,insists go! now! miffed he replies, why are you scolding me? that's it! and he hauls himself in a huff and begins to leave and she grabs hold of him , noo erhh, he cranks his necks and gives her a sided look, then faces her and she pleads, no don't leave like this, he asks her perplexed, go.. don't go? like this ,then should I leave standing on my head? he baffles her on purpose and she replies , no I meant leave , but not like... I mean don't leave as if you're annoyed at me.. she mumbles like a little girl and he smiles down at her.. she carries on innocently , I get frightened.. and shyly she looks down to avoid his wanton looks. he takes one step closer to her and whispers ,suggestively , fine I won't leave angrily , shall I leave lovingly then? and Dhani's eyes fly open at the option he puts forward.. and he steps closer to her and frightened she backs off as he tells , her , I'll, remove all your fear today.. and she utters, vikal babu.. what? and he grabs her and calmly ,says , just stop before you fall.. frightened she gives him a look ,wondering what he was planning to do? closer he comes to her, and with hooded eyes he steals glances at the gap still to be bridged between them and terrified Dhani looks up in to his unpredictable eyes, he's not.. oh gawdd, Dhani thinks..and slowly she feels his hands reach for her pallu . and tenderly he covers her head with it.. confused she looks into her smiling face , as he holds her shoulders, and proudly admires her innocent ,simplistic pure beauty ,as she was his most prized possession.! With a beaming smile he boasts of her beauty to himself , and leans to the side of her face and whispers in her ear .. by the way , I know my boundaries.. and, Dhani looks down rather guiltily, how could she even envisage he would ever take liberties with her? he cherishes her to no end.. and slowly , swept by his sense of honour she looks up into his eyes, and he asks her, now what do you fear? hey do you fear you'll lose me? well, I too fear losing you.. but I tell you what! now not even the devil can separate us! and now I am leaving he whispers sibilantly , and he pinches the tip of her nose affectionately and then makes a hurried exit!
But stops near the door post as she watches him.. then he has a thought , and why not? at least let me tell her what I hoped for from her , but decency stopped me.. Viplav turns and yes, she watches him from far, he gives her a passionate look and in turn she smiles shyly.. and his heart says ,go for it now Viplav! blow the girl a kiss!!! from your lips.. surely it will land on her lips!! Dhani is stunned.. by what lands on her lips. The very sensation flutters her gentle heart , as she watches Viplav mischievously dashing off!!
Kanak barges into Dashrant's room and revels in her victory as she ,mocks at dashrants's picture on the wall ,that she jeers at to no end.. she called it a day for him! for good , now he can have a whale of a time with his beloved son Shambu up in the sky. As for her ,she had taken enough of his bullying tactics it's time for her to control the reins of this household in her hands . She occupies his rocking chair and rocks all her plans of making it big on the wealth amassed by Dashrant. She laughs hysterically as she rocks in his chair filled with the grandiose ideas of doing as she pleases in this house! As she has attained the position at last of what she hankered for all along.. She laughs drunk with hubris! But only to be challenged by the one she bore! Her boy Viplav!
Within seconds she transforms from a greedy overambitious harridan to a humble picture of service and duty. she pretends to smooth the counterpane of the bed . She draws Viplav's attention to the change that has come over due to widowhood. He sympathizes with her that she is fasting and still working ,she shouldn't, as she's feeble ,let the servants take care. she feigns it's ok I was just smoothing a crease in the bedsheet and then stupidly she mutters , thank god! Viplav points out she's muttering and she fools him by acting as if she is mentally disturbed, now she pretends to talk to his babaa ,when he was around, we used to chat.. Viplav is too kind ,as she's his mother..otherwise he knew that his father could never even get a word edgeways with her!
The obstacle in Kanak's way.. stirs, regains consciousness and tries to figure out ways to salvage himself from the ditch . Dashrant yells and calls for help! then suddenly help arrives for him in the form of a rope hurled at him right into the ditch. Gradually he pulls himself out and comes on to flat ground and expects to find his saviour ..but there's no one about only the other end of the rope tied to a sturdy tree! But then slowly he sees jungle men with spears coming at him from various directions! Dashrant is stunned , he shouts and tells them who he is , but the cannibals as they seem, move around him dangerously . Dashrant is clearly distraught and he offers money ,whatever they want as barter for his life..
Kanak continues to bluff Viplav by her pretend mourning. He brings food for her to break her fast and she dilly dallies about it,no she cannot! it'll break her commitment to strict widow hood tenets. She rejects food ,and Viplav too doesn't insist. That disappoints her as she wants him too. So in the end she tricks him yet again that ok to make him happy she would break her fast..just for his sake as he's the only one she holds on too. It's worrying that even though Viplav knows well enough that his mother has a nasty streak in her, his hands are actually tied down due the change in her status. Kanak meanwhile will draw as much attention as she can that she is a genuine mournful widow who grieves for her husband unlike that Dhani! who only pretends to be morose.. a widow in name only!
Dshrant is tied to a tree..its night time and huge cauldrons are bubbling away on fires. It's clearly he's going to be made into a tasty feast for these hungry cannibals. He yells to be released. Again he tries to buy his freedom by his wealth.
At home shalu alerts all that dadaji's phone is unreachable. He hasn't returned home. Viplav panics and his mother smirks behind her white pallu.. but she pretends to show concern by wittering on with her usual feigned wailing. Viplav goes looking for his dada ji. Kanak scoffs silently , son you'll never ever see him as he's go to his Shambu.. and may babu ji's soul rest in peace she titters..
Dhani on her way to the mandir comes across Dashrant's car. The driver narrates all to her , Dhani bravely goes looking for dadaj ,but sends the driver home ,who reports that he met Dhani and she too has gone to look for maha pandit in the jungle. Viplav moves swiftly at the mention of Dhani' s name! and runs to seek both of them.
Both him and Dhani , at various intervals come across the ditch with dashrants shawl as the clue. Dhani though leaves a trail of flowers for Viplav to follow..as she knew that he would come to seek them both..
Dhani the brave lioness reaches the cannibal camp first and fearlessly infiltrates the camp! faces the armed cannibals like the mighty Durga goddess! manages to free Dashrant whom she orders to flee! She'll follow later.. He does! and Dhani becomes the next piece of morsel for the jungle tribe..
The puny poor widow from the Ashram saves the might high priest of Banaras city..one question.. was Dhani set up?
A high drama episode in the end. Feels like a sudden change of flavour, with a new addition of adventure to a tale of social values , conspiracies, betrayal and Ishq.. loved the change of scenery, and the flower trail.. Mishal , Eisha ,kajal great watch! Hamlet53 23.1.16
