It's not about what we like or dislike, or in what look the actor looks better. Ramayan isn't supposed to be about looks or actors' beauty/handsomeness. It's supposed to be about getting the facts right and showing how people back then actually looked and dressed. There is a lot of historical evidence that shows us how people dressed back then, particularly royals, and a mukut was a sign of dignity and respect (whether we like it or not).

So yeah, if SKR wants to be "apart" from other mythological shows even at the cost of showing inaccurate costumes and looks, then it'll definitely be known as the one mythological show that is "different" from all others, but not in a positive way I assure you.

Anyway, I think Ashish will wear a mukut during the swayamvar, because both the promos had it, along with the on location videos.
