Raj- I am talking about the very adorable , Rati Pandey joins me here on drive time . So lets say Hello and welcome to Rati ...
Raj- Hi Rati
Rati Di - Hey , Hi Raj ( i just cant describe what happiness her voice blesses me with . )
Raj- Hellooo to you
Rati Di - How are you ?
Raj- I am doing well . Its so good to hear from you after ageeesss .
Rati Di- After ageees , yes , after two years , i can say that . (she giggles)
Raj- Two years indeed . How , how have you been ??
Rati Di- I have been good , i have been enjoying my sabbatical . So...and i am back with a bang now .
Raj- You areee , i mean you are back with a bang . A lot of people , lot of fans have been waiting for your return . Even i was messaging you as well saying Rati when are you back ? , when are you back and finallyyy you are back now on &TV with Begusarai .
Rati Di- Yes, yes Raj .
Raj- So tell us about the role because you are playing a negative character for the first time .
Rati Di- Ya exactly i was , the moment i got this character narration , i was little skeptical about the whole thing because i was never prepared for a negative role . But suddenly my family convinced me to do so that it will be a different genre all together and you will be attempting something different than what you used to do usually , all the time . So i said yes , lets try it and lets give it an attempt . The first attempt and i guess ...hmmm...it will be a fruitful thing for me .
Raj - Ya i mean , But doing this kind of character , i am sure you were a little bit apprehensive thinking "oh pata nahi kaisa response milega". How do you feel to be taking up such a role...is it challenging for you as an actress ?
Rati Di- It is a challenging thing for me but as i have already done a negative char in previous show called hitler didi , i used to play double role . I used to play positive as well as a negative character but the thing is that i will be shown as a negative character throughout in this show right now , i enter as a positive character but later for some circumstances , for some motives i become negative . So i feel that my viewers , i have different viewership altogether ,they trust me and they trust my work . And its all about work , the work speaks whether it positive or negative . It should be performance oriented . So i only think about the performance , nothing else .
Raj - Now that's good and what are your preparations for the role ? Is there anything in particular you had to do to shape your self up for the character .
Rati di - Exactly , exactly there are too many shades to show . The entry was so positive and the entry was so bubbly that it reminds me of Nupur and then in between i became something else and later i will become something else . So it has got lots of shades in it and i guess and i hope that people will enjoy the shades .
Raj- Oh look at that , you got different shades in the character . So will you be changing later on then ?
Rati Di- Yes , yes definitely i will be changing into a negative character later . Generally when we show throughout negative , they show .they do zoom on you ...such kind of camera effects are there that audience come to know that its a negative character but in this show , it is something different . I have portrayed a positive character , but with a motive i will become grey shade later . But she has some motive behind becoming a grey shade . So i think there will be lots of chances to show lots of shades to people .
Raj- Rati why did you decide to do a show that's already on air , not doing something completely new after two years ? Is this ..was this really that fantastic ...
Rati Di - ( laughs ) Cause ...the thing is ...i am sorry to interrupt you because i already signed three shows.
Raj - Ahaa
Rati Di- Which were supposed to come on air and the TV genera is going haphazard right now . ( laughs ) So i thought whoever will air me early , i will sign them .
Raj- Yes...because you are doing fear files as well on zee tv ? How is that , you are hosting that ...aren't you ?
Rati Di- No , no no its has yet not started , its still on loop right now .
Raj- Okay
Rati Di- So i don't wanna talk about that because i have already signed it but it has been postponed . The schedule has been postponed .
Raj- Okay
Rati Di- So i dont know anything about that , i don't have any idea .
Raj- Okay , Rati there is a question ...few question from fans aswell . One question in particular , What''s your take on the title of the show begusarai ...sasuri ki jagah hain ?
Rati Di- Okayyy...The thing is that i originally belong from Bihar , so i know Begusarai is a big threatening name for everybody . Begusarai is actually an area where people are fighting to own that area , so its all about bahubali's and all and i was very tempted to join this show earlier also but luckily i got the show and It belongs to bihar , its totally bihar and i belong to bihar ...i am in love with the dialects and dialogues , the way i am portraying myself . Its totally different , so its actually a beautiful thing that i belong to bihar and i am portraying a bihari right now which is like the next hometown on the sets.
Raj- Yaa
Rati Di- So that has attracted me a lot .
Raj- I was actually gonna say , how is the dialect being for you because the accent is quiet different . Isn't it ? In bihar , so was there anything basically you had to do for speaking in a particular way for the show , for this particular character .
Rati Di- Exactly exactly , i am not speaking totally fluent hindi .
Raj- Hmmm
Rati Di- But i am using the bihari dialect all the time . And that is what is tempting me a lot , that is what is exciting me a lot .its very ...because i belong to bihar , so its really easy to deliver those dialogues and i have always been urging for that character , to do a bihari character which i have got luckily .
Raj- Brillianttt
Rati Di- Its very exciting .
Raj- Okay there is question also , about the smoking that your character have been seen doing " Yaani ki the beedi "
Rati Di (laughs)
Raj-So it a camera effect or you really holding that cigarette ?
Rati Di- No no i was , i held that beedi and it was ajwain in there , an ingredient which we mix in the sabzi and all , an indian spice , its called ajwain and you can smoke it . I hate the smoke , i hate the smell of beedi actually . So i had to smoke literally and i was so petrified and sooo panicked .
Both laugh
Rati Di-Before signing this show , i got to know that i had to smoke . And i called up my mom and dad that listen i have to smoke in a scene and they were like laughing aloud and they said no... go , why its just a character , you have to perform . I was like , fine if you dont have any problem , why i am thinking so much. And it went with the flow and we all enjoyed on the set and everybody appreciated that and said you are so dedicated with your work and i am like " okayyy" . ( laughs )
Raj- Awww
Rati Di- No more cigarettes and beedis anymore . ( Both laugh ). So ya i enjoyed the moment , it is something different on television , nobody has attempted yet .
