A strange pen-chant?

Ekta Kapoor considers Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii's dialogue writer Dheeraj Sarna lucky for her. Is that why she asks him to write the first draft of all her shows?

After we heard of Wasna Ahmed aka Dhara in Kasautii Zindagi Kay who Balaji Telefilms' head honcho Ekta Kapoor considers lucky, we got to know about another one of her favourites. This time it's a writer named Dheeraj Sarna, whom Ekta considers really lucky all for her shows. So much so that Ekta always asks Dheeraj to write the first draft of any new show that she launches.

Says a well-placed source in Balaji, "Dheeraj has been an integral part of Balaji Telefilms for a long time. In fact, he is one of the few persons who have a very long association with the production house. Ekta respects loyalty and she is very fond of Dheeraj. He is basically a dialogue writer. So, most of the time, Mahesh Pandey conceives the script and Dheeraj writes the dialogues."

Dheeraj has done multiple shows, out of which Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii is most prominent. "When Ekta started Kahaani…, she took him for the show. Balaji keeps on swapping scriptwriters for different shows. Although Dheeraj has done multiple shows, Ekta never allows him to leave Kahaani…, as she thinks he is one of the lucky factors behind the show's success. Dheeraj has set a record of writing the dialogues for 1300 episodes of Kahaani…," adds the source.

There is another factor for Ekta's fondness for Dheeraj. Apparently, Ekta and Dheeraj's stars are quite similar. "The guru who has predicted Ekta's bright future also holds the opinion that Dheeraj's association with Balaji will only bring good fortune to the production house," says the source.

When contacted, Dheeraj says, "Yes, I do write dialogues for most of Balaji's shows when they start off. Whenever Ekta ma'am plans a show, she says 'Dheeraj will do it.' I get scared sometimes as I have to meet her skyrocketing expectations.

"Of all the shows, I am basically writing for Kahaani… for a long time, and thankfully it has continuously been doing well," adds Dheeraj.

When asked about him being a lucky factor, he says, "I won't be able to comment on this. I have no clue about Ekta's stars. But, one thing is that it would not have been possible without her help."

Ekta says, "He is an awesome writer. Forget luck, Dheeraj is talented, loyal and family for Balaji. We always turn to Mahesh and Dheeraj to save shows."

Dheeraj came to Mumbai from Jaipur to become an actor. He went on to become a writer, but he has also done cameo roles in Balaji shows. "I have done small appearances in shows like Hum Paanch and Kasautii Zindagi Kay. But, what I enjoy most is writing," he adds.

Thanks for sharing. 😃 Dheeraj, this one's for u... 👏 Kahaani has had some of the best storylines ever... 😃 beautifully presented, superbly written and absolutely rocking, touchwood... 😃 and Kahaani's dialogues... 👏 👏 👏 I'm always applauding the dialogue writers of Kahaani... 😳 Kahaani really has the most fabulous dialogues, touchwood... 😃 esp during the Narayanidevi-Janki phase... 😳the dialogues were mindblowing... 😃Once again... 👏 👏 👏
