It didn't take Raman much time to reach the Iyer house. He stopped the car and ran inside the house.
"Appa how is Ishitha? Where is she? Why didn't your'll call me before?"
"Raman relax relax beta. Ishu is in her room. She's sleeping now. But she refused to eat anything. She's very weak. She's so stubborn she doesn't listen to us. That's why we called you"
Raman felt very sad. His eyes got moist feeling he's the reason for all of this. Mrs.Iyer noticed this and said "Raman please don't worry beta. Ishu will be fine. It's just fever"
"Amma can I go to her please"
"Why please Raman? Of course you can go. Go to her. She will listen to you"
"Ok amma" and Raman went to Ishitha's room.
"Did you see Vishwa how much Raman loves our daughter. He came running to see our Ishu. He was almost crying Vishwa"
"Haan Madhu. Even I was thinking the same. I'm so happy today. Raman loves Ishu a lot. He will take care of her well"
"Hmmm"
Raman went to Ishitha and sat near her. He slightly caressed her forehead seeing lines of worriedness in her forehead. She stirred a bit and slept again.
"I'm sorry Ishitha I hurt you a lot. But I promise you I won't hurt you again. Today when appa told me your sick and that your very weak I felt very helpless. I came running to you. I then understood how much I love you. I will confess my love to you very soon. But before that I'll tell you the truth about shagun too. But I promise now it's only you in my life" he kissed Ishitha's hand.
Ishitha snuggled to Raman and kept her head in his lap and hugged him tightly and slept in his warmth. Raman was shocked with her sudden act but saw that she was sound asleep so he held her protectively and feel asleep in a sitting position as he was tired too.
After sometime Ishitha woke up and felt someone's hand over her. She looked up and saw that Raman was near her and that he was holding her protectively. She felt so happy seeing Raman like this. But she didn't want too much expectations and also she felt very weak so she tried to move away a bit which woke up Raman.
"Ishitha you woke up? Are you fine? How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine" whispered Ishitha and tried to get up but fell back as she was weak.
Raman got angry with Ishitha's carelessness so scolded her "What is this Ishitha? Can't you understand that your still weak" and Raman made her lay down and said "I'll bring food for you"
"I don't want to eat"
"Ishitha please don't be stubborn. Your very weak. You need to eat something and have your medicines so please listen to me"
"Why do you care for me?"asked Ishitha with a straight face.
Raman felt very hurt with Ishitha's words but went out without answering her. He came in a while bringing food for Ishitha and started feeding her. She refused at first but then agreed and ate. Ishitha kept on staring at Raman while he was feeding her unable to understand his true feelings towards her. She ate a little and refused to eat. He then gave her the medicines and said "Ishitha now rest"
"You didn't answer me Raman. Why are you doing these things?"
"Ishitha what are you asking? Your my wife. If I don't care for you then who will. We need to take care of each other right?"
"These things happen between normal husband and wife raman. Not like us. You never consider me as your wife. There's nothing between us. You even regret us" said Ishitha with a sarcastic laugh.
Raman sat near Ishitha and took her hands in his and said "Ishitha I know I did wrong with you. I hurt you always. But not anymore. I need never regret us Ishitha. We'll have a fresh start. Ishitha...I have to tell you something. But now it's not the time. First you have to get well" and he hesitated first but then kissed her forehead and said "Ishitha will you come with me to go home?"
Ishitha was happy with Raman's change so she said yes happily. Raman took Ishitha home which made both Mr. and Mrs Bhalla so happy. But soon got worried seeing Raman holding her protectively supporting her to walk.
"Raman what happened to my Ishitha?" almost shouted Mrs. Bhalla.
"Maa Ishitha had fever and she's weak now. She needs rest. I'll take her to the room"
"Ok puttar"
And Raman took her to their room and made her lay on the bed. "Ishitha now please rest. Tell me or maa if you need anything"
Ishitha nodded happily while thoshi caressed her hair till she fell asleep.
"Raman did you tell her?"
"Maa I will tell her everything. But let her get fine first"
Three days went and Ishitha recovered very soon. Raman took care of her well. He fed her, gave her medicines on time and use to make her sleep sitting near her caressing her hairs. Ishitha was so happy these days with Raman's care and concern.
In office Raman was lost in his thought in his cabin. "Now I will tell everything to Ishitha. But I won't let her leave me. Never ever will I let her leave me" and he sent the driver to bring Ishitha and then both went to the beach and sat there silently for sometime.
Ishitha understood that Raman wanted to tell her about the past which she heard from his parents sometimes back. She wanted to know it yet she was not sure whether she was ready for it as she was not ready for a heart break now. The strength she wanted to built to stay from Raman became a failure which instead made her come closer to him and fall in love with him even more. And she thought that maybe he wanted sometime just like her too so she said "Raman I know you want to tell me about your past. But if your not ready for it now you can tell it to me later when your ready for it. I won't force you"
Raman looked at her and was lost in her eyes where they shared a long emotional eye lock which was broken by Raman first.
"Her name is Shagun. Shagun Arora". Ishitha felt a prick in her heart listening another girl's name from him. She felt even that name was said with so much love. Yet she controlled her emotions and held his hand to support him.
FLASHBACK
Raman and Shagun went to the same school and their families were very good friends as well. They use to meet very often, use to spend all the time together in school and they were the best of friends.
After their school education both entered to the same college where Raman did his studies well but Shagun was interested in modelling. She went to college due to the insistence of her parents as they wanted Shagun to overtake their business. Raman helped Shagun with her studies and Shagun used to somehow pass in her exams due to Raman. But she never stopped her modelling work.
Whenever she gets a chance she use to go for those while Raman use to cover up for Shagun to her parents. Since school Raman loved Shagun a lot. Loved as in he was madly in love with Shagun and as she too was always comfortable with him and the continuous chanting of "I love you Raman" made Raman think that shagun too loves him.
So before her 24th birthday party Raman thought of surprising shagun so he asked both their parents for permission for their marraige which they happily agreed and he planned a grand proposal in her birthday party. He at first preferred a silent one where only both of them would be but remembered her words "My future husband should give me a dreamy proposal where all the others would envy me. I want a lot of people around me. I would only say yes if I get such a proposal" and he planned a proposal infront of everyone in her birthday party.
The birthday party went on full swing. Shagun was wearing a short sleeveless dress looking hot. After sometime shagun's father called her to cut the cake and she cut the cake and fed her family and started finding Raman. Suddenly the lights went off. With a slight music pictures of shagun and raman were displayed on a screen since their childhood upto now. Shagun was so happy to see it. After the photos Raman came to Shagun where the spot light was only on the two. He forwarded a diamond ring and said "Shagun your the love of my life. We've been together since we were small now shall we get old together? Will you marry me?"
Shagun was surprised and shocked with this sudden thing and everyone was shouting " say yes " " say yes " so with the flow Shagun said "yes"
Raman then slid the finger to her finger and hugged her. That's when she realised what happened. She reciprocated the hug and smiled at Raman. Soon the parents fixed their marraige within 6 weeks.
The marraige preparations were on full swing yet Shagun started changing drastically. She started ignoring Raman saying she's busy with the wedding. When they use to meet she use to shout at him. He was so in love with her so he handled he with great patience and gave her, her much needed space. He felt she was nervous about the marraige so he didn't bother much about her behaviour but did various things to keep her happy.
Time went on Shagun was the same. Then before 2 days to the wedding Shagun called Raman and said that she wants to meet him urgently.
