what struck me in today's episode was the beautiful way in which gender equality was highlighted!
When we treat women as the weaker sex, or the inferior gender, we on one hand disrespect them, on the other hand we also open a window for women to misuse this inequality!

True gender parity is the only way that will create harmony and balance in the society

I loved the fact that the cvs connected Tadaka Vadh and Ahilya Udhdhar to establish this fact

Itna toh shayad Tulsidas ji ne ya Valmiki ji ne bhi nahi socha hoga! Kudos to the cvs

So we had Mata Gargi, taking a conventional opinion of misjudging Rama as the prince who wouldn't hesitate to kill even a woman!

Then the news of Ahilya confused her - how can a man be so cruel one day and so kind hearted the next?

If he is a misognyst, then how could he touch Mata Ahilya without any poorvagraha, and with full respect and reverence?

And when she questions Rama she realises that Rama did not act out of consideration for their gender, his actions were based only on their karma

The on who spreads terror must be stopped, whatever be the gender, and one who needs empathy and love, must be given that

Doshit hone se koi paapi nahi Ho jata - just because someone is accused, doesn't mean they are sinners!

Rama's actions are guided by his karma and his niyati, and not by any other consideration!

Of course, if she had any doubts about how humane Rama is, how he respects the right and the deeper values and qualities and not the narrow and shallow differences of status, position, gender, they were completely erased when Rama accorded all the sadhvis equal respect as the rishis, because their gyan makes them all superior to him, and equal to each other

His being a prince, would've made him entitled to take the comforts for himself and get waited upon hand and foot by the ladies of the ashram, but he acknowledged their superiority of gyan and knowledge over his position by birth -...

So, Rama is the true feminist, a true believer in gender equality, without any bias - equal punishment for equal crime and equal respect for equal gyan - empathy for the wronged, and a strong faith in doing his duty and following the righteous path, without worrying about its consequences !

Very sweet and romantic was the love of Sita for Rama, destiny is giving sanctity to her feelings, the Gods are working to bring them together and the match made in heaven is about to be united on this earth!

I am so glad that the writers are using Ramayana to re-inforce a lot of good values and highlighting issues that are the burning issues of the day!

This is the first time I am watching a show from this PH, and I must say I am impressed by the sateek way in which they drive the message home, and the focus on core values.

I too loved the Gargi and Rama conversation, and yes urmila and lakshmana would be fun to watch,.

I loved ur post , beautiful , lovely...

Samaanta equality r needed to keep the balance in this world
Purush -Prakriti compliment each other
both of them need to understand n respect each other
some times its not happen where Purush showed his superiority n sometimes woman...
when there will be mutual respect for each other neither any Ravan or Tadaka will be there to make any imbalance in the world ...

This has to be one of my favourite moment of this show. They defined what feminism means perfectly, it doesn't mean one gender is above or else, it means they're both equal. Amazing scene and loving the way this show is unfolding 👏

@Arshics completely agree to you and each line you have put in the post. The dialogue between Ram and Gargi was a treat to any rational viewer. The dialogues were superbly written and it reinforced my thinking for a long time. That the abla nari card misused by woman. I mean there are many women out there who in front of the world are sati-savitri and behind do the worst crimes than men. And when caught do the drama of abla nari and escape. Infact these women are the biggest bane for the progress of woman and even for gender equality than the men. Ram saying such woman need to be punished was a beauty. And I guess he decided to go for Vanvass also to punish Kaikeyi for the destruction she was bringing. Because it was Ram taking Vanvass, enraged the Ayodhya and even Bharath and the entire opinion went against Kaikeyi. If Ram had listened to anyone else and taken the throne of Ayodhya Kaikeyi might have won, she might had Bharath by her side. But Ram denied her that chance. And indirectly he punished his father also showing him the helplessness he faced in front of a woman. With love Ram exposed both Kaikeyi and Dasrath.
Another point we need to note that gender parity happens when men themselves rise above the society norms and give the right women a chance, based on their knowledge and actions. Because to break anything you need support from inside. Patriarchy and its norms can only be broken by a man, with the help of the right woman proving his values and thought processes right.
Last but not least Ram told one beautiful line. I do action and I don't worry about results of the action. Results will happen, but my actions are based on dharma and I will continue to do that. Same thing Krishna told to larger humanity. Concentrate on Action, not on result. Karm karo, phal dena bhagwan ka kaam hai. Only action is in your control, not result. This basic knowledge of BG most probably we are going to see in action through Ram's journey.
