It seems they're the parents of Roshni as they treat her like an innocent baby whom if they tell her th r truth about the world she will die, hence they sugar coat the words for her and make her feel more useless for not ever getting involve in anything what her mom and hubby do
DD uses her when she needs hugs while Sid uses Roshni for kisses, so the poor girl really is the puppet in their hands
