Chap 21

If It Doesn't Hurt It Isn't Love

Nandini's heart sank as Alya's words pierced through her heart and soul. "secret boyfriend!" she whispered and thumped on bed defeated. Manik who was trying to make sense of everything that now Nandini knows the one secret which he kept away from her; the one secret that he scared will break her and his fears came true. She was sitting on bed all broken and lost.

"yes Nandini Manik drank my bold, feasted on my body compelled me to keep us a secret and one fine day he compelled me to forget him and whatever happened between us. The last thing I remember was Dhruv feeding on me and Manik had come and rescued me" Alya said trying to remember everything. "Manik rescued you?" Nandini asked as if trying to make herself believe that all that she was hearing was false looking at Manik all the while as he looked at her helplessly trying to tell her the depth and truth of his love.

Alya sat on bed rubbing her throat "yes and then you went missing and the fight on forest. I was hit by a boulder right on my head; the impact was so much that could have killed me and how come?" she sat rubbing her head which had no mark of injury. "And what is this thirst? My throat feels like burning." She said rubbing her throat.

"Because you are a vampire now and the thirst; it's the thirst of blood." Neyonika replied solving the riddle for them "What?" Nandini and Alya shouted in unison. "how I mean just because Manik and Dhruv fed on her she became a vampire?" Nandini was baffled as Alya sat there as if she had been paralyzed. "relax Nandini!" Neyonika tried to calm her down and continued "She turned not because my sons fed on her but because she had Manik's blood in her body when she died. Manik treated her from Dhruv's assault and when she hit the boulder and died she had vampire blood which led to her waking her up as a vampire."

"Now?" Nandini asked. "She will have to complete the transition by drinking the blood or else she will die. The thirst she is having will be only quenched by blood only." Manik explained. By then Dhruv came with a blood bag and forwarded it to her.

"are you mad? Stay away from my sister." Nandini pushed Dhruv away but Alya held his hand. "Alya kya kar rahi ho?" Nandini protested "you are choosing to be a vampire why?" "because I want to protect you?" Alya screamed "yes Nandini I can choose to die but if I die you will be left alone in this world and I can't let that happen." She was crying bitterly. "You don't deserve this Alya." Nandini too was crying. "Nandini when mom and dad died I promised myself that I will protect you from every evil in this world. You are not my sister Nandini you are my kid and this is the best way so let me do it. Let me have my life of eternity."

Saying this Alya took the blood bag from Dhruv and started drinking it; Nandini couldn't handle it anymore. Her whole world took a 360 degree turn and she couldn't do anything. "Alya!" dadi's voice got all their attention as soon as Alya drank and completed the transition.

"well well well! Here comes the band of witches; the famous original witch family of Tehri Garwahl." Manik welcomed dadi, Vandana and Mukti who were standing there all stunned by what they saw. "Manik Malhotra." Mukti tried to slap him but dadi stopped her. "dadi what are you doing?" Mukti protested while dadi kept looking at Manik. "How are you Gayatri? Long time to be precise 50 years when we last met in Darjeeling." Manik said with his trade mark smirk.

"Well yes 50 years." Dadi smiled too "You look the same the Manik." She complimented him and he smiled and said "You look more beautiful but did you forgot the fact that witches have pledged their loyalty to vampires so when did you change sides to werewolves?" Manik voice changed from soft to anger. "What werewolves?" vandana asked. "Well ask you dearest mom when she shook hands with the Saxena's; the werewolves." "What? What are you saying?" Mukti said.

"he is right." Dadi said "Harshad and his family are werewolves. I never thought even Harshad will turn into one." She sighed. "What did you thought the vampires will never come back and you can let the werewolves run a free reign?" Manik's thunderous voice scared everyone especially Nandini and Mukti. "but now we are back and this town is ours so get your loyalties back at right place before this town sees a blood bath like never before." "I will get the halo ring for Alya by evening." Dadi said and walked off with vandana and Mukti.

As soon as they left Nandini got up and held Alya's hand and started walking out. "Nandini!" Manik's voice was again calm as he saw her walking. "Where are you taking Alya?" Neyonika asked "she is my sister and I am taking her home." Nandini replied. "Nandini you cannot take her home. She is one of us and as per the rules of coven she has to stay with us. Moreover she is a new vampire so its not safe." Dhruv explained.

"She is my sister first Dhruv. I don't care about your coven and it's rules." And Nandini again started to walk but this time Manik held her hand and said "Nandini listen to them it's not safe for both of you." "Please Manik let me go I want to be alone." Nandini shook her hand off and walked away with Alya.

Nandini parked the car and they both walked in. "Alya!" as Nandini tried to say something Alya stopped her in between and said "Nandini I am very tired. I want to sleep." And she walked into her room. Nandini sat on the couch crying bitterly; till this morning her life seemed a fairy tale to her. She didn't had parents but a sister who meant the world to her and now she is a vampire; she was in the arms of the man she was in love this morning; he wasn't a human and her's wasn't an ordinary love but he was good, a devil with heart of gold but now she knew he feasted on her sister. "when did this fairytale turn into a nightmare?" she walked up to her parents picture and cried sitting there.

Alya was lying in her bed recalling the events of the night. She had dreams, big dreams. She wanted to become a model and walk the ramps all over the world. She wanted to see the world; she wanted to be young forever but one night changed her life completely. She closed her eyes and a lone tear escaped. "Am I dead or I am living?" she spoke to herself as she stood in front of the mirror. "welcome to the life of forever 20 Alya Kapoor!" she said sarcastically as she poured herself a drink and raised a toast to herself.

As soon as she took a sip she threw away the drink. "Eww.. why did it just burned my throat." She took water but spilled it too. "What is wrong?" she sat in front of the dresser when she felt a smell. She took a deep breath and inhaled the smell. "Human. Fresh blood." Alya spoke softly and soon she found blood rushing to her eyes, her skin crinkling and fangs making their way out as she made her way to the smell; smell of her sister Nandini.

Nandini was still sitting in front of her parents photograph and crying when she heard commotion. She looked up and what she saw scared the hell out of her. Alya, her sister was coming for her, her blood in the most scariest form. "Alya what are you doing?" Nandini's voice got struck in her throat. She started moving back as Alya increased her pace and moved fast. Nandini wanted to scream but she couldn't, she couldn't believe her ever sweet sister was lusting for her blood.

She tried to run but can't keep up with a vampire no matter how new she was. Alya held her and pushed her. "Aahh!" Nandini screamed in pain. "Its me Nandini; Alya please wake up. Please." She begged but all went in vain. Just as Alya was about to dig her fangs in her neck someone pulled her away. "Manik!" Nandini whispered and ran into his arms. Dhruv took Alya away after feeding her on the blood bank as Nandini hid herself in Manik's embrace unable to handle it anymore. Manik picked up in his arms and made way to her bed room.

Manik and Nandini were sitting quietly for some time now. He wanted to speak, tell her how low he was feeling, how guilty he was off what he and how he never harmed Alya after realizing she is her sister but he couldn't; her tears made him helpless and more guilty. "Why Manik?" finally Nandini broke her silence and spoke. She looked at him with her teary eyes.

"Nandini I never wanted to hurt you. The reason I did that was to stay away from you, keep you away from. I tried to get close to Alya and humiliated you to keep you away from me but Nandini you have to trust me that ever since the day I knew she is your sister I never tried to harm her. I tried to protect her." Manik said cupping her face. "Last night also when I fed her my blood I wanted to save her from Dhruv but look where I got her. I am sorry Nandini. I am so so sorry."

Manik looked at Nandini for her to say something but she kept looking at him blankly. "Nandini please say something." He said and then she without giving any warning slammed her lips on to his. "I hate you Manik. I hate you." She said brushing her lips against his. Manik fisted her hair and pulled her back, he bit her neck giving her a bite. She hissed in pain and he licked it up to soothe her; he started kissing her neck and moved up to her lips and brushing his lips with hers he said "I love you Nandini. I love you so so much." And entered her mouth making her moan.

He ripped her clothes apart as she unbuttoned his shirt kissing him all over his chest and abs and driving him crazy. "Nandini!" Manik groaned her name in pleasure as she came on top of him kissing his jawline. He soon flipped their positing and pinned her to bed and kissed and bit every inch of her body making her moan in pleasure. They got wild with each for the next couple of hours as he bit her and she scratched him; finally he occupied her making her moan his name and feel him inside her. Manik collapsed on Nandini's chest after a passionate love making hearing her heart beat while Nandini was ruffling his hair. "Manik! Will you promise me something?" she asked and he looked up and said "what?" "Promise me there won't be any secrets from now on." He smiled and bent deathly close her and said "no more secrets." And fused his lips with hers.

Baath ittu sa dha..haaaooo.. Relieved.. U knw wt writers have that power.. U r the only people who can make evrythng OK n can spoil evrythng.. I was actually in a dilemma whether to read this chapter or not.. I was afraid ki, wht if evrythng goes bad n I'll end up sad and hurt. Yes, this ff have that impact on me.
Thanku so much for not adding the misunderstanding scene.. U ignored the alya manik thing by not creating a scene out of it. Which compelled us to ignore that thing.. Thanku for that.. Now evrythng is fyn. Am soo happy. Yaar. Am at peace
