What was so SPECIAL about HAIDER?!

HAIDER was a major breakthrough for SHAHID KAPOOR, he won the Filmfare Best Actor Award and the movie got him commercial/critical acclaim. TABU was also appreciated for her role and got the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award. And we all know Vishal Bhadwarj is a great director. But I have never seen the movie. 😆😉 However, I have heard people on this forum have said the movie is overrated and didn't deserve the attention it got. Please share your thoughts. What was so SPECIAL about HAIDER?! 😲

Whatever vishal movies I hv watched, I found dem average bt strangely, for me, de r grossly appreciated by critics..I liked skm bt critics dint 😆..don't get d reason for difference in opinion..Altgh shahid's n tabu's performances were great
