Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet failed miserably and the film hardly earned any money at the Box Office. Both Phantom Films and Fox Star Studios incurred losses with the Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma starrer not doing well.
However, now it seems Kashyap has decided to repay the amount that was invested in Bombay Velvet to the producers and distributors of the film - Fox Star Studios.
According to a report in a leading daily, Kashyap along with his Phantom co-founders will be gradually repaying the amount to the studio. He quoted to the daily in November 2015, "My own partner told me that I had made a Rs 90-crore art film and a lot of people had issues with that. I have to live with the burden of losing all that money for the rest of my life. That gives me nightmares."
Kashyap's friend and Phantom co-founder Madhu Mantena though refused to officially comment on the matter, but agreed that as a producer the idea is to stand by what is right. However, a spokesperson on behalf of Phantom Films confirmed the news to the daily and said, "We are beginning with a sum of Rs 10 crore and hope to repay most of the money by the year-end."
Now this is indeed a brave move!

Where is Biru? He should return at least some money man... one of the reasons why it flopped is because he took such a hefty sum for it!
